Intel WiDi requires Intel graphics to be installed and enabled. It appears that your Dell might have switchable graphics, which means that it can switch between onboard Intel graphics and NVidia 435M external graphics. Can you confirm that your model supports Nvidia Optimus? If so, switch your graphics mode to power saving or Intel HD graphics mode and then try reinstalling the software.

I have the same issue but i have
HP Pavilion DV7t
I7 processor Q 720
NVIDIA GeForce FT 320M
Windows 7 64bit
I have done all the updates and everything that is possible but when i try to install the widi it keeps saying that the platform is not compatible.

Note that there is a set of requirements a system must comply with, for the Intel® wireless display to work. See the list of requirements at the link below:

One of the things from your hardware list that will not comply is the processor, (it is not part of the compatible processor list), this processor does not have embedded graphics.
The Intel® Wireless Display will work only with the Intel® Graphics embedded on the processor. This would be the cause of the error message you are getting.
