Yes, my system has been stable for 3 weeks now with maxed out memory. I'm VERY happy. Like you, I could put 2 sticks in and all was fine. As soon as all 4 slots were filled, the problem returned. All is well now that I have increased the voltage to 1.6. Thanks again Robert!!!
Your welcome , I found this by talking to the folks at Crucial and asking them what is the Max volts that this Ram can safely operate at , I've also figured out that by turnning up the volts I was able to overclock the ram a little higher .Right now I have My ram running at 1400Mhz Cool and stable.
Сan someone help me? I bought two of this RAM's http://www.kingston.com/datasheets/KHX1333C9D3B1K2_4G.pdf
but they do not work (three beeps)
What should I do?
If you are getting 3 beeps one of the Ram sticks is Bad , RMA and try again , I will tell you that the ram you use HAS to be DDR3-1333-10600, DDR31333-10666 will not work right , if you are going to be using 8 GB turn up thr ram volts to 1.6 volts . stick to coursair.
It's 10600, btw tried out AMD 1333MHz 10600 2Gb RAM, same, dont work..
Has this board ever worked right or is this a new build ? reason why I ask is because you could have a bad socket these board were notorious for this problen .Try taking a can of compresssed air and blow out all the ram sockets could just be dust ?
this is a new build, old ram works fine
So is the machine running Now ? ,, I don't know about using 4GB sticks per slot , If I remember I had it set up with 4 , 2GB sticks total of 8 GB , Check the specs on that board and see what is the Max Ram Per slot. Are the new ram sticks 4GB each or 2 GB each.
Sorry for reviving a somewhat dead thread but im getting the DP45SG motherboard on amazon for 75 dollars I'm trying to keep my Q6600 going for as long as possible and cause i don't have the money to build a brand new PC. so anyways Will this ram work with the Mobo?
BLS2KIT2G3D1339DS1S00 - 4GB kit (2GBx2), Ballistix 240-pin DIMM , DDR3 PC3-10600 from Crucial.com
Appreciate it if you can help.
It should work BUT it will not run at 1333 , because the Q6600 has a FSB of 10600. So the RAM will be limited by hte CPU. If you could squesse out the bucks a Q9550 would be a better choice because it runs at 1333.
okay thank you but i just checked how much a Q9550 is and its $175 used on amazon and $379 new from amazon. i could get a AMD Phenom II 965 Black Edition for 119 a AsRock AMD 970 Extreme3 for 84. So do you think its even worth keeping this CPU alive or no? What my original plan was Buy a new case the DP45SG ddr3 ram and thats it i was gonna migrate the rest of the parts from my current computer. So robert what should i do? You seem like a expert at this
. And thanks for the help! Appreciate it. ![]()
If you are not tring to build a high performance machine , just get some DDR3-10600 ram PC-8500 , and run the q6600 , Just make sure the ram matches the FSB of the CPU and you will be fine , the board is capible of duing either , it is a extreme board. I had one for a year or so but I wanted something faster so I got a DX48BT2 and put a xenon in it . Fast .
I just acquired one of these boards for a computer I'm building, and I think I have that set of Crucial RAM (just under the name CT2CP25664BA1339 ). Three beeps. Since both the RAM and the board are straight out of the box, is it possible that they need the BIOS updated in order to work together? I've tried various configurations as well as another type of ram that seemed to meet the board's specifications. All components work fine on my other motherboard (except the RAM, as the other board is DDR2).
EDIT: Never mind. Turned out I needed CT25664BA1339A.
