I have the exact same problem, except on a Toshiba laptop. Any solution?
I uninstalled all the critical updates for Win 7 that came out on 8/12/2011, rebooted and that resolved the issue.
Hi
With my new Toshibe P775, Intel WIDI is an important feature for me. it was working for a few weeks. but it cannot find NETGER adapter any more. when tried to run WIDI, the windorw of "Intel My WIFI Technology not enabled. Restart the computer and try again" is poped out. I did this may time even after I download the drive update from Intel WIDI web site. my wireless internet connection is fine. please help me to fix it ASAP.
Thanks,
Don
I have the same problem on Toshibe laptop too. I hope I can find a solution here.
I have an HP Pavillion and have the same problem. HP and Geek Squad were both unable to solve. Would love a solution. Anyone?
It sounds like an obvious unrecognize communication between one or the other or the two devices at once.
I would be you, I would find a way to reset your TV WIFI setting or better, reset your TV to factory setting because I and you do not know how actually the TV reset the WIFI communication, is it just partially or completely.
Now for your VIAO it is a bit trickier because the issue can come from one of multiple levels.
1) I would turn off my firewall, even windows firewall if I have only that, then turn off then turn back on the VIAO, make sure your firewall(s) is/are still OFF, then try again the WIFI communication. if it does not work then the firewall is NOT the issue andf you can tuen it/them back ON. If for some reasons it works, then you found the faulty and need to get into your firewall(s) settings so communication can be established IN/OUT of the VIAO.
2) Revert WIFI driver to when it was working properly. Also check with VIAO if them have a little software to help either way revert or compeltely clean your WIFI driver, that is, a good driver wipe.. especially at registry level! Try again with whatever Windows 7 driver offer you as a WIFI, if it works and communication is strong then good and do NOT update it at all. If it does not work the go back to VIAO and re-Download one of the WIFI driver. In your case I woudl NOT go with the latest driver or the driver since you started to have the issue with.
Lastly and to recap, it is just an issue of communication, if geeks did not find a physical issue meaning your WIFI card or chipset is broke then feel lucky because you only have to find the correct way to make it work and not send your unit for repair. So it takes a bit of investigation trial and errors but you will find the solution at some point.
Hope this helps, courage!
Has anyone had any luck with rrebel's (post #7) solution or any other for that matter?

Windows 7 Ultimate 64
NetGear PTV3000
Intel® HD Graphics Driver for Windows 7* and Windows 8* 64 (Win64_152815.zip) Download Center
Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows 7* (Wireless_15.6.1_s64.exe) Download Center

Intel® Wireless Display Software for Windows (Setup.exe) = Ver. 3.0.13.0 Download Center
Intel(R) WiDi Widget for Windows 7 (Home Premium 32-bit or 64-bit) (WiDi Widget.msi) Download Center
Note: This says Home Premium but it works (It is optional but handy)
WHAT I DID
Went to "Network and Sharing Center"
Selected "Change adapter settings"
Found a "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter" that was Disabled (There may be more than 1)
Right Clicked on the connection and selected "Enable"
CREDIT
I found this seemingly related issue:
UNABLE TO LOAD THE INTEL MY WIFI TECHNOLOGY DLL FILE
I tried it and it worked for my 'Intel My WiFi Technology not enabled.' error
So thank you to Shashi, Intel WiDi - Applications Engineer
Download Intel® PROSet/Wireless version 15.5.5.47 or higher, install intel proset then install the widi, works like magic. You're welcome.
