Yesterday I assembled my new PC and I was disappointed by non-ability to use XMP with G.SKILL Trident X on this motherboard. Any memory settings except standard 1333Mhz produced triple beeps, pause and reboot. BIOS update to latest 0039 did not help. I thought something wrong with memory, but today morning I put it in my friend's ASRock Z77 and PC was booted with 2400MHz easily.
Has anybody got a successful experience with G.SKILL Trident X & DZ77GA-70K?
Visual Bios does not pick up correct values from XMP. Also it shows incorrect values on Performance->Summary page. Manually, I was able to overclock memory to 1600 (8-8-8-22 1.5v) and 1866 (9-9-9-24 1.5v), but 2133 & 2400 is still not reachable with my F3-2400C10D-16GTX .
I had the same problem using the original BIOS shipped with the board. Intel corrected this problem in its second BIOS update, I believe the number is 035. XMP after the BIOS update works as it should.
Original BIOS was 0021, current updated BIOS is 0039. Also after reboot Visual BIOS shows x18 is 2133 MHz, same as x16 ![]()
Did you ever get this memory to work at 2133 or 2400? If so, would you post the settings please? I have the same mobo and same memory and so far have been unsuccessful in getting it to work above 1333. Thanks.
Current version of Visual Bios is so buggy, so I stopped to do experiments after I got the stability at 1866.
I'm waiting for new Bios.
I use the same memory but only 2 x 4 GB and it works fine @2400MHz together with my i7-3770K-CPU@4,5GHz and a Zotac Geforce GTX 680. If I´ve tried to update the BIOS from 039 to 045 I´ve removed the GTX 680 and the RAM works only at a maximum of 1866 MHz with the integrated IGP@1600MHz. This means the MHz of the RAM is not independent from the used display adapter. After re-integration of the GTX 680 my RAM works @2400MHz again and there is no problem to use both GPUs with Lucid Virtu Universal. The GTX 680 is not overclocked and the IGP works @1600MHz.
Hello Everyone,
I'm having the same Issue ... I'm very frustrated...
Headline of my config :
If I put the frequency to 2133, the windows itself is not at all stable.
(I see the famous blue screen of windows)
Did you find a solution ?? ![]()
