How to update the RAID driver in Win 7

I have an Asus P6T WS Professional motherboard.

On upgrade to Win 7 (64-bit) I installed the Intel(R) ICH8R/ICH9R/ICH10R/DO/PCH SATA RAID Controller. Ver. 8.9.0.1023. and set up RAiD10.

Because I am having problems with the PC, I have been advised to update to the latest Intel RAID Drivers (now known as Intel RST) from http://downloadcenter.intel.com/. So I have downloaded iata_cd_10.8.0.1003.exe. How do I update the drivers without loosing the data on the HDDs?

Do I have to update the Intel Matrix Storage Console as well?

Jackfelt,

Updating drivers and the operating system console utility will not affect the data on your drives (array). In fact, the location where this software will be located is on the drives controlled by said drivers and utility.

Follow the included update instructions and you should be fine.
