3-4 days ago, I was playing games with my friends on my laptop. Everything was fine, like always.. Yesterday, I wanted to play games so I booted my laptop. I just open a game, it was Minecraft ( not a BIG game ) and I got alot of lags. I just reinstall it and put all to the lowest setting and it was laggy. I have a program named CPU-Z on my computer that says specs of your PC... So i just open it to see if something goes wrong... It says my video memory of my Intel HD Graphics 3000 card is... : -1259 Mb . Normally it was 1Gb of VRAM ( video memory ) and all games was playable... But now, I can't play any games without ilaggy as hell... Thanks in advance, Hugo .
Maybe Windows Update stuck you with a less-than-optimal driver in the interim (try updating, though note that you may need to uninstall your current driver first)? Or perhaps you're running at a lower CPU speed than before? You've accounted for game settings, so it's hard to imagine what else could have happened. Oh, did you happen to install Win8 but not update to the beta driver found on this forum? If so, you're running without OpenGL, and some games really hate that.
It's integrated video, so it's not VRAM per se, just standard system memory allocated for video use per the "IGD DVMT Memory" setting in the BIOS, which defaults to "Maximum" normally. A figure like 1259MB (roughly 1.2GB) is exactly the sort of number you should see (on an 8GB system, the Intel Graphics applet found in Control Panel shows 1696MB Max Graphics Memory here). Unless you also happen to have a discrete video card (in which case, by all means, use it), I don't think you should have ever seen exactly 1GB. In any case, 1.2GB > 1GB, so I think your problem lies elsewhere.
I try to update Driver, but it said I can't because it's a custom driver for the card. After that, I just open another game and somehow it worked...
I was thinking the first game I try was the problem... It worked too... I don't really know what just happen but games are working properly. If you could know how it fix by itself and tell me on that.. That would be great .. Also, sorry for my bad english ... xD
