Have you tried running Samsungs ESTOOL utility on the PC to test the HDD and its communication with the board? Did you also load BIOS default values for the motherboard before you attempted OS installation. You need to have at least BIOS revision 007 (preferably newer) installed on the board to support any of the comaptible 2.0 GHz CPUs it'll work with. If there's any antivirus option on the board to protect the boot sector (not sure if this applies for your board), make sure thats disabled when installing an OS.
Does the OS installation itself go through error free?
You could also try running Intels Online No Boot Wizard as that'll go through steps to check.
