I have the similar issue.
I am trying the hotspot feature for the first time so I installed the driver v15.1.1 and v15.1.0. They don't seem to come with My Wifi but I found a separate installer for My Wifi.
When I start the dashboard, it complains the drivers are not up to date even if they are the latest. When I place the cusor above the hotspot button (which is grayed out) there is a hover popup saying this feature is not available in the lite version.
According to the documentation, My Wifi should come with the driver. So I installed the driver version 14 but I did not see this option in the custom installation screen.
Yes, i got the same problem and i want to know how to solve that.

I'm having an issue with personal hotspot but at least i'll help you progress toward a solution. First of all, I have a laptop with windows 7 x64 and my wireless card is Intel Centrino Ultimate N 6300. I have both the drivers + proset software version 15.1.1 and My Wifi Dashboard *full version* 15.1.1. I don't even know how you end up getting the lite version... anyway here are the links to download:
1. first the drivers + proset v.15.1.1: (get the largest file size)
note that the files with _Ds64.exe only contains the driver, the ones with _s64.exe nclude driver and intel proset software which you should get. The file size is also larger.
2. Intel My Wifi Dashboard v.15.1.1:
So guys fix up your installation and try running the hotspot again. Then tell me about it.
It seems that only the new chipsets are supported for these features.
I have a intel 5100 and it does not allow me to create a hotspot.

my laptop is window7 32bit and wireless card is Intel® WiFi Link 5100 AGN (like @steelmanx)
but in the my wifi dashboard product brief told that supported wifi link 5100
So, i don't know why my dashboard is lite version.

I start is also lite version, make for a long time did not do well, finally understand the drive is wrong, the beginning I download is "Wireless_15 1.1 _Ds64 exe."（it is drives only） and then the dashboard has been lite version, but I later found out that "the wifi dashboard" need "Wireless_15 1.1 _s64. Exe", then install Intel_My_WiFi_Dashboard_15 1.1 _s64. Msi,Dashboard finally is the full version， if is a 32-bit systems use the corresponding 32-bit program.

I have the same problem. this new intel dashboard is nice but it really sucks i have intel 5100 agn wifi card it worked with intel proset version 14 i could setup a hotspot too and connect my devices to my laptop now with this new one i cant, i tried everything on this forum even what the person up there^^^^^^ said but mine still says lite version im thinking of re-installing windows 7 and installing version 14 again least it worked. intel please fix this problem

I am having the same problem. The hot spot button worked originally but only momentarily. But now the hotspot switch goes over , and my wifi mouse goes out, the wifi never turns on and the mouse comes back in about 30 secs. I would like to connect my android phone! this all worked with my wifi dashboard 14. If you get any more advise please pass it on.
Hi, The problem is this:
You need install the installer "Wireless_15.1.1_s64.exe" or "Wireless_15.1.1_s32.exe" in custon mode, not install the sd version because this contain only the driver.
At the moment of the instalation you will need select custom installation and select Kit of Administation tools and Software Intel ProSet/Wireless Enterprise. The option to select in the two cases is The component install integer in your hard disk.
Then only if is necesary reinstall the aplication Intel My Wifi.
This tool only work with compatible adapters.

I installed both the "Wireless_15.1.1_s64.exe" and the dashboard (15.1.1), I have a supported hardware (Advanced-N 6205), but the dashboard keeps starting in Lite mode. Does anybody know which are the checks it performs on startup? Is there a log file I can check?

Finally the version 15.1.1. dont work fine. I reinstalled the previous version and it work fine (Wireless_15.1.0)

I tried to install version 15.1.0 (Wireless_15.1.0_s64, 182MB) but on my notebook the setup application does not display any option to install the dashboard, so, I still am not able to have a full dashboard version running!! I'll wait for the next release and hope...
