I just got a new H2000JF (H2312JFJR) 2U 4-node server. I loaded one of the trays with memory and e5-2600 chips and it isn't booting. It starts to power up and then shuts down, a few seconds later it tries to boot again. Does this over and over. Nothing ever shows up on the display. None of the leds on the back of the tray seem to light up so there is no diagnosic. Tried moving everything to a second tray just incase there was a bad tray and no luck with that either.
I tried the memory and chips in a SuperMicro server and it boots fine so I don't think there is a problem there.
Any ideas? Thanks. -- Bud
I would first check Processor Compatibility and Memory and Hardware Compatibility. Try to boot the node with one CPU and one DIMM.
Thanks Edward. I'm using the E5-2687w which isn't on that list.
It is on another list as supported though:

I've tried one processor/one ram stick with the same results. Even in this configuration, which should be way below the power limits, it won't boot.
I've ordered a e5-2603 to see if it will boot off that. I have the E5-2687w's running in another server and heat and power are not an issue. I could go with the E5-2690 but they slower and cost more. I'd love to talk to an intel engineer about this if it turns out to be the processor. -- Bud
Got the e5-2603 and it boots fine. Dissapointed I can't run the e5-2687w's in this server. Anyone want to swap a couple of e5-2687w's for e5-2690's ? Bud
