Boy am I having some problems with my WIDI. It has worked fine for months and last night worked fine then all of a sudden it now "can't find an adapter" I have tried all types of rebooting, gone to device manager, tried enabeling the device and now trying to restore to a previous date. Still can't find an adapter! Nothing helping. Can someone walk me thru this. We have our WiDi on a laptop ASUS and all had worked fine for months but not now.
Sorry to hear of your troubles. What, if anything changed in your setup? Do you have a Netgear PTV1000 or PTV2000 receiver? Did you happen to perform a software update?

I need help as well. I just got a Toshiba Satellite P755 with a D-Link Mainstage (DHD-131) adapter. Right out of the box everything worked fine but after installing AVG internet security 2012 I get the message "could not obtain network address" . I checked to make sure WiDiApp is on the list of confirmed programs in the Firewall but it still doesn't work. I'm not a techy at all. Could I be missing something somewhere?
Try going to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections and enabling the Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter
Hello UprizeR. This issue seems to be particularly related to AVG since WiDi worked properly when you used a different antivirus / firewall (as you mentioned in the other thread). In my experience with security programs I have encountered scenarios when other specific security features (besides the firewall) are involved in the issue. So, my recommendation is to contact them for more information or troubleshooting on their product.
