A few questions for you regarding this.
1. What are the Wireless Drivers that you are using?
2. What media player software (title and version) are you using?
3. Can you play protected content on the Laptop itself without using Intel® WiDi?

I'd try using DVD43FREE It runs in the background and automatically eliminates the copyright problem for burning, maybe it'd do the same for this. May not work, but worth a shot
