I appear to have the problem as described in Intel Solution ID: CS-031086. Windows installs but does not recognise the on-board NICs. My environment is as follows
- Intel board S5520SC in Intel chassis
- Windows 2008 R2 with SP1
- BIOS upgraded to S5500.86B.01.00.0057 dated 03/10/2011. PCI AER support is disabled in the BIOS
After installation completes Windows Device manager reports "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)". The following Hardware IDs are reported for the Ethernet Controllers:
- PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_10AA&SUBSYS_00008086&REV_02
- PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_10AA&SUBSYS_00008086
- PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_10AA&CC_020000
- PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_10AA&CC_0200
Downloaded file intel-lan_msft_v16.0-whql as drivers. Install of this directory (running Windows_x64_Install.cmd) fails to find any NICs
Have tried with two network cables to active switch and also same network cable in both ports, to no avail
Please advise what I try now
