Hi,
I recently purchased a new Desktop PC. The details are as below:
Processor Type: Intel Core i7 CPU 950 @3.07GHz
Board: DX58SO Extreme Series
BIOS Version: SOX5810J.86A.5200.2010.0414.1420
OS: Windows 2008 R2.
I have isntalled Hyper-V and I have created a Virtual Machine. When I try to start the VM, it shows error that hypervisor service is not running.
I checking in BIOS setup, and I have enabled the below under security tab.
Intel VT: Enabled
Intel VT for Directed I/O (VT-d) : Enabled
Interrupt Remmaping: Enabled
FLR Capability: Enabled
But I still get the error that hypervisior is not running.
How can I sort out this issue. Help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.
Jay Chandran.
Have you checked with microsoft , this sounds more like a software prob. see if they have any updates??
No I have not. I have all the latest windows updates installed.
So the board DX58SO and i7950 Processor does support Virtualization? Or am I missing something?
Have you tried running your hyper v in safe mode to see if any other program may be interfering with it?
It did not help either... the hardware DEP is still shows as Off when it is checked.
Hi, I am new here. I have the same isssue.
could you enable Hyper-V?
Hi,
I disabled all Intel VT option in BIOS. Reinstalled OS, and then reinstalled Hyper V. Vola! this time Hardware DEP was turned on!
After this Hyper V was running successfully! Thats all I did!
Cheers!
Jay Chandran.
