<Does anyone know of a way to run a intel mobile graphics express 4 update from a repair mode command prompt?>

i have two HP G71 laptops with mobile graphics express 4 chips.  I think one had a video driver update pushed to it that may have crashed.

i get a black sceen with a mouse curser.  the computer still seems active, but no display. when i first touch the mousepad after a re-boot, the cursor dims.

i have tried (many times each):

ctr-alt-delete  - black screen

safe mode - black screen

last know good config - black screen

swapping hard drives - black screen moves with the drive

external monitor, vga and hdmi - black screen

hard reset (no a/c or battery) - black screen

with a boot from repair disk, i get low res VGA mode on the display:

chkdsk/r - no errors

sfc/scannow (offline mode) - no errors except for winpe.bmp

system repair - no errors (reports that OS booted normally)

restore point (only had one) - black screen

i tried a graphics card update on the working laptop, and the screen went black for a few seconds, then came back okay.

<Does anyone know of a way to run a intel mobile graphics express 4 update from a repair mode command prompt?>

thanks
