Closer :
If it stays dark, there is NO HDD activity...
And during my boot, it stays dark during 20 seconds. ![]()
Your computer boots up and you can use it, right?
One of your hard drives is never recognized? I'm still not clear what problem you are having.
I'm just a dumb American! ![]()
Yes it boots.
Problem : it begins to starts and make a "pause" during 20 seconds...
HDD Led lights on and stops during 20 seconds...
It may be an option in the bios, but which one ???
Thanks.
Check the setting of the Hard Disk Pre-Delay feature of the Advanced Menu in the Drive Configuration Submenu of the BIOS Setup
program and make sure it is not the culprit.
OK, it is on value 0.
I will try to change and see...
May be just a bug, i will do what U explain.
Thank U.
OK, same problem with 5 or 10 seconds delay !
I will remove the bios battery for a long time and switch on the bios to default...
Removing all connections except video card, same trouble.![]()
Always 20/23 seconds full speed on fans...![]()
OK, for me it is clearly a problem of bios and/or Intel drivers.![]()
Now I have an Intel SSD and problem still goes on ! ![]()
I would do this if I were you.
Fist, download the latest bios, but do not download the .exe version. Download the one used for recovery which is the .bio
Burn that file to a CD.
Reset the motheboard bios to its defaults.
Put the motherboard on recovery mode. To do so, remove the bios jumper from the motherboard (check your manual)
Turn your computer on, and load the cd/dvd drive with the cd you've burned previously.
This way the motheboard is going to install the new bios.
Once the process is done the motherboard will shut down.
Put the bios jumper in place and that's is it.
A site note...
I've seen a lot of people having problems with SATA setups and long waiting before booting..
I had those problems myself and the fix I found is quite simple.
- make sure you have your HD pre-delay set to 0
- make sure you selected "native mode" rather than "legacy mode" on the SATA settings.
- as incredible as it seems, if you set your Intel SATA Port to "RAID" your machine will boot in less than a minute.
I know it sounds crazy but it really cut my boot loading in half.
I don't have a RAID setup myself, as I am using an OCZ Vertex 2 SSD, a SATA HD and a Blue-Ray player and I boot in less than a minute.
Mind you that if you have Windows already installed you may have to re-install it again when you change from AHCI to RAID.
Hope it helps.
I will do that !
U will know the result in few days... ![]()
looking forward to it! ![]()
OK, now results are coming !
First, the boot seems just shorter but not really significantly.
Second, fan monitor is now perfect and i am not in hell during half minute...
Thank you for your help.
* My system was Raid and so Seven is on Raid form : now i am on single SSD and HDD but to be able to use Intel Desktop Control Center i must select raid in bios. I must reinstall seven to turn it in AHCI but i would not do it because of lot of work to catch the same configuration like now. I read there is a change to perform in register to get AHCI but i am not sure about.
Golden quiet is back !
Best regards from France.
One question...
Is your board the first version of DX58SO (white pci slot) or the revised version (black pci slot) ?
It seems that some of the people having most of the problems are using the first version.
Since you're running W7 on RAID is system is already using AHCI. It is enabled by default when your system is set to RAID.
Are you using the Intel RAID or the Marvell Controller?
If you're using the Intel controller I suggest you to go into the BIOS and disable the Marvell Controller, BUT if you're using the Marvell then I strongly recommend you using the Intel one since performs faster and enables TRIM for your SSD disk, as long as the disk itself supports it.
Glad I could help.
Cheers.
PCI xpress are black and onr Pci is white.
Fir sure, when Raid is active, AHCI is also.
Is only use Intel except for external HDD.
Have a very good day !
