intermittent problems with PCI bus DMA board

We build a product that is pc based and has a PCI board that does DMA to the PC's memory from a custom hardware device.

We recently upgraded the pc to the DH55HC with an i7 cpu.

The systme runs ok, but occasionaly we get a timeout error from our app on the DMA transfer.

We are running Windows XP Pro SP3.

Is there any info regarding this issue?

Further investigation shows that earlier versions of MB (-501) work ok, but -502 does not.

On the Power page in the BIOS, try changing CPU C State to Disable.
The image shows the changed setting.

I had a similar problem and the DMA errors went away after changing this setting.
