Hi,
I am trying to determine what the technical differences are between the E1G44ET and the E1G44ET2. Both are quad port RJ45 GigE adapters ad use the same asic, 82576. Anybody have any info on this ?
thanks in advance,
jim
Hello,
Refer to these links:

All the best,
Kind Regards,
Aryan.
The ET2 has support for the PCI SIG SR-IOV Virtualization Technology. If you are unfamiliar with SR-IOV there is another blog about this technology:
http://communities.intel.com/community/wired/blog/2010/09/07/sr-iov-explained
yup, this Intel site tells the difference
http://www.intel.com/support/network/adapter/pro100/sb/CS-030762.htm
Okay, reading between the lines the difference is a change to the PCIe Switch (bridge) used.
thanks,
jim
Hi Jim,
You are correct.
