Since installing the Cisco E3000 wireless router I can not locate the NETGEAR PTV1000. The error messages
says "YOU ARE CONNECTED TO A WIRELESS ROUTER IN AN INCOMPATIBLE MODE.""Please reconnect to your wireless router in a compatible mode and rescan for adapters"
At this point now what? I am a computer beginner and changing stuff on the computer is not my fortay. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Shirl
The Cisco router may be operating the WLAN in 5 GHz mode. Intel Wireless Display supports only 2.4 Ghz WLAN. You need to make sure the Cisco router is operating the WLAN in 2.4Ghz
Hello,
How do I change the WLAN from 5.0 to 2.4?? That is the part I do not know how to do. Will I need to setup the cisco as if out of the box? or, is there awithin the progam? I have looked but, I am unable to find. I have looked on the advanced settings, all over the cisco control pannel. with no luck. I am a beginnig laptop user any direction would help. Thank you in advance.
The router comes with a setup program or can be setup with a browser. I think the setup program is called the Cisco Connect Software. You need to use the router setup program or contact Cisco to set the router up for 2.4Ghz.
The E3000 router is a dual band router which means it creates two networks; one using the 5GHz band and also 2.4GHz band. Only the 2.4GHz based network is compatible with the Netgear Push2TV adapter. My guess is the the E3000 create two netwroks that only differ by a suffix. For example mynetwork_2.4 and mynetwork_5 Use Windows to see if the two networks exist. You may need to reconfigure your E3000. See the instructions on this at http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=80&app=vw&vw=1&login=1&docid=1c8bbb5f83824e88ada380f567fc74ae_21453.xml
