If Intel AppUp(SM) center does not launch when clicking the icon, please try these steps:
Step 1:
- Manually stop and restart the Intel AppUp(SM) center client and service

- Confirm your PC meets the minimum requirements for hardware and software

- Confirm you can access sites that use SSL. Intel AppUp(SM) center uses SSL to securely communicate over the Internet.
- Google's Encrypted Search* uses SSL https://encrypted.google.com/, and can be used to verify port TCP/UDP 443 is open on your firewall.

- Temporarily disable your system's anti-virus protection and firewall software. If Intel AppUp(SM) center launches without issue, you will need to add the following services as an exception. You may need to contact your anti-virus/firewall provider for assistance. If disabling your virus software works, then you will need to add Intel AppUp(SM) center as a trusted program to you virus software.
Step 3:
- Uninstall/Re-install Intel AppUp(SM) center with the latest version.

- Start it in Windows* Safe Mode with Networking.

- If Intel AppUp(SM) center functions properly while in Safe Mode then there is likely other application or security setting on your PC that is conflicting with or preventing the operation of the Intel AppUp(TM) client. You can stop unnecessary services and programs from running when Windows boots using the MSCONFIG command (Warning - Disabling necessary services may cause your system to become unstable or unprotected!)
- Reboot Windows into Normal mode.
- Run MSCONFIG from a command prompt.
- Look for unnecessary services that are loading in Windows Startup and temporarily disable them until you can determine which one is causing the conflict with Intel AppUp(SM) center.
- Reboot Windows into Normal mode.
(Optional) Try installing Intel AppUp client on a second PC to see if you get the same results or if it works.
