To improve data center efficiency, Intel IT measures computing energy efficiecy in its data centers using measurements of actual server power comsumptiong and utilization. We are able to identify trends and opportunities to improve data center efficiency based on the data collected. In the pilot project we covered in this whitepaper, our measurement and data analysis enabled us to add capacity at a data center location that we previously thought was power-contstrained.
