This document details the assumptions and calculations behind Intel's 8 month payback estimate when investing in a new Intel(r) Xeon(r) processor 5500 series based server and replacing older servers.  Sounds to good to be true ... not so.

Coming soon is a co-developed Savings Estimator Tool to allow users to customize their own environmental assumptions to better understand the financial and business value of replacing aging servers with new Intel Xeon processor-based servers.
