Intel® AMT SCS V3.3 TO 5.X Upgrade Overview

VERSION 1

Created on: Mar 4, 2009 11:28 AM by Liesa Harkness - Last Modified:  Mar 4, 2009 12:30 PM by Liesa Harkness

Upgrading the Intel® Active Management Technology (Intel® AMT) Setup and Configuration Service (Intel SCS or SCS) from version 3.x to 5.x is relatively straight forward.  There are several significant changes to Remote Provisioning certificates that need to be pointed out to ensure that  the upgrade is successful.

The document I've created identifies several issues that I have found to make a perfectly good SCS 3.3 stop working after upgrading to SCS 5.x.  It is not meant to be all inclusive, merely to point out those items that could be stumbling blocks.

Also, I have included a few screenshots of the new interface to help identify the new way of doing things.

For more detailed information about the installation, console operations and troubleshooting procedures, please refer to the latest documentation located at the Intel® vPro™ website and the Intel vPro Expert Center.
