PROBLEM | By default, Intel IT Director log service is disabled. But if you want to check the log file for troubleshooting, it can be enabled by change the registry key setting for Intel IT Director. The log file will be stored at the installation folder with format: ISBNHULog<YYYYMMDD>.txt after you enable it. |
SOLUTION | 1) For 32bit system, please change the register key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Intel\Intel(R) IT Director\Log], Set the value to: LogLevel=dword: 00000000; LogTarget=dword: 00000007 2) For 64bit system, please change the register key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Intel\Intel(R) IT Director\Log], Set the value to: Loglevel=dword: 00000000; LogTarget=dword: 00000007 Reboot the system to make the Intel® IT Director start to trace the log messages. We recommend you change back the settings to default after you finish the troubleshooting to avoid the log file size increase. |

PROBLEM | By default, Intel IT Director uses TCP Port 17000 for communication with client. If your client has some 3rd party firewall software installed, the software may block this port. It would prevent Intel IT Director from being able to monitor the client. |
SOLUTION | Please refer 3rdparty firewall user guide to release the port 17000 if it is blocked. You also can check if the port is active from Intel IT Director installed system by running “netstat –an” from command line. If only windows firewall is enabled in your client, please re-run Intel IT Director configuration tool. |
