Evaluating Two- and Four-Socket Server Virtualization Platforms

Intel IT conducted a proof of concept (PoC) test and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis to compare two- and four-socket servers based on Intel® Xeon® processors for server virtualization. Results indicate that four-socket servers based on Intel Xeon processor 7400 series can offer significant advantages and lower TCO in multiple virtualization deployment scenarios.
