Chip Design using 45nm Quad-Core Xeon Processors

VERSION 1

Created on: Nov 11, 2007 9:58 PM by Laurie Buczek - Last Modified:  Nov 12, 2007 8:11 AM by Laurie Buczek

We used more than 50 EDA workloads that are vital to the design and manufacturing of Intel processors, chipsets and communication silicon to test the new 45nm processors. We found that the 45nm processor was up to 2.83x faster than a servr based on the 64-bit Intel Xeon processor with a single core. The quad-core processor was also able to run 4x more simultaneous jobs than the single-core processors. Testing and full results are in this white paper.
