vPro provides a significant control element with the ability to turn on and update / patch all PCs on the network during non-business hours, then turn them back off. By taking users out of the picture (they don't have to leave the machine on, and they don't have to respond to the "hated baloon"), change controls can be much more reliable (non-discretionary).
