I read this report and found it very interesting. In some situtiatons, the report notes, Virtual Hosted Desktops crashed due to a rogue screen saver, and did not provide standard desktop functionality. Server utilization was also far higher than for streamed applications.

 

I wonder if such results could be caused by the virtualization software used -- Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1. Does Intel have any idea how the test might have come out using VMware's virtualization technology? As the market leader, VMware has many more implementations and is perhaps more mature than the Microsoft product.
