Intel SRCSASRB Raid controler managing software on Ubuntu server

Hi

First: I know that Ubuntu is not officially supported, but my questions are not Ubuntu specific.

I currently try to install the Raid Web Console 2 software on an Ubuntu server for remote administration.

My Steps was:

convert the "RAID_Web_Console_2-3.04-05.noarch.rpm" to "raid-web-console-2_3.04-6_all.deb" with alien (>sudo alien --scripts RAID_Web_Console_2-3.04-05.noarch.rpm)

installed libstdc++6 from the ubuntu repositories

installed the "raid-web-console-2_3.04-6_all.deb" file

This works fine, but now I have some problems.

For remote managing two daemons must be started:

/etc/init.d/vivaldiframeworkd start

/etc/init.d/mrmonitord start

First I have modified /etc/init.d/vivaldiframeworkd (changed directory of the jre and modiefied the for loop syntax)

/usr/local/RAID0 Web Console 2/Framework/startup.sh changed directory of the jre)

/usr/local/RAID0 Web Console 2/Framework/shutdown.sh changed directory of the jre)

After that "vivaldiframeworkd" seems to work. Don't know how to test it, but "ps aux" gives me:

root 28446 0.0 0.0 3944 568 pts/0 S 10:18 0:00 sh /usr/local/RAID Web Console 2/Framework/startup.sh
root 28448 2.8 0.8 2316520 70808 pts/0 Sl 10:18 0:01 /usr/bin/java -classpath ../jre/lib/rt.jar:../jre/lib/jsse.jar:../jre/lib/jce.jar -Djava.library.path=. -jar Framework.jar

I think it works

Next is "/etc/init.d/mrmonitord start". Here is my main Problem. The startscript writes an error:

> cat /var/log/mrmonitord.debug

> /etc/init.d/mrmonitor: 49: /usr/local/bin/mrmonitord: not found

If I start "/usr/local/bin/mrmonitor" directly I get:

> /usr/local/bin/mrmonitord
> -bash: ./mrmonitord: No such file or directory

> ls -alhs /usr/local/bin/

> 4,0K drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4,0K 2009-09-28 16:59 .
> 4,0K drwxr-xr-x 11 root root 4,0K 2009-09-28 16:59 ..
> 1,3M -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 1,3M 2009-05-14 11:34 mrmonitord

Can anyone say me what this message means? mrmonitord is there (ls confirms this).

I don't understand why there is an "No such file or directory" error. Does mrmonitor open an File which is not on the right place?

Thanks for help in previous

Keros

RAID Key RKSAS8R5 Identification on Server Board S2600CP2

Hi,

I am building a new server with an Intel S2600CP2 mainboard and a C600 RAID Key (RKSAS8R5) to allow RAID 5 for SAS drives. I have changed the Mass Controller settings in the BIOS for the SAS/SATA controller to ESRT2.

With this key I am able to enter the Embedded RAID II Configuration Utility and create a RAID 5 virtual disk but when I try to install the OS (Win 2008 x86, or 2008 x64, or 2008R2), it cannot see any disks even though I present the ESRT2 drivers for the respective OS. I have tried the ESRT2 drivers for both the S2600CP mainboard and for the AXXRAKSW5 key and neither work.

If I decide to use the SAS/SATA controller in RSTe mode I can install the OS when I present the RSTe drivers, but this does not offer RAID 5, only RAID 0 and 1 are available, which is not a solution.

I have noticed the message "Intel RAID Activation Key AXXRAKSW5 Authenticated" at the Embedded RAID II Configuration Utiltiy screen. The AXXRAKSW5 key is not meant for the S2600CP family of boards.

http://ark.intel.com/products/49593/Intel-RAID-Activation-Key-AXXRAKSW5

Without any hard disk cables connected to the mainboard this message is present. I have updated the BIOS via the Server Management CD and via EFI and this still persists. I have even cleared the CMOS and it is still displayed. I requested a replacement RAID key from our supplier and the result is the same. When comparing the labels on the boxes for the 2 keys, all numbers and IDs are the same except for the serial number, so could it be a faulty batch???

Here is a pic of this RAID key.

I have heard a source say that the key should be purple in colour (ie the plastic), whilst this key is black with a purple sticker. So have I got the correct key???

Jerome

I tried to update the BIOS, BMC, RMM3, ME etc. (pretty much all) to the newest version. I did this remotely, using Remote Management console with mounted USB key image. However, after the update, when BMC was disabling FW Transfer Mode, RMM3 probably reset its settings or has been restarted, because I lost contact with the machine. When I arrived at the place, the message on the screen said the update failed because it could not access the file (which was located in a USB key image mounted in Remote Management console). The front panel was locked, so I couldn't perform a soft restart as the last message of the update process suggested. After power cycle the machine does not start. Fans are spinning, LEDs are shining but nothing more. Video output is blank. I used "BIOS defaults", "BIOS recovery" and "BMC force upgrade" jumpers (one at a time) but nothing helps. The machine is virtually dead. How can I revive i

How to use NTB (Non-transparent-bridge) in R1000GZ/GL server

I can't find one written on it. The Web RAID console is listing it as ALMP2, but I can't find any drivers or firmware for that. Does anyone know what the model number might be?

How to use NTB (Non-transparent-bridge) in R1000GZ/GL server

I need them to try the PCIe Non-transparent-bridge (NTB) function. After installing Fedora 17 OS, there is no NTB function available. I think I should set something in BIOS to enable the NTB function but I can not find the place to do it. Could someone can teach me how to enable the NTB function ? Or there is any document about this? Thanks very much.
