Windows 7 what does it mean for you.

I have been using the Beta version of Windows 7 since November last year, I am now on the RC1 build both at home and in work, it’s a great OS very fast compared to Vista, I have found the new jump lists invaluable at finding previously opened documents straight from the task bar.

The look and feel of this new offering from Microsoft is great everything seems a lot crisper in some way. I have it running on a core i7 at home with 12 Gb memory and the cpu O.C to 4.03Ghz and I must say Windows 7 is very fast, on my work laptop I am running a Centrino Duo with 2Gb memory and Windows 7 is still very fast, I have had no issues while trialling the OS for Intel and I am pleased Intel will be rolling this out across the business I am sure people will be more than happy with the transition.

For those people who would like to see what the fuss is all about you can still download the RC version from the Microsoft website which will run until June 2010, Various online retailers have already started pre orders from as little as £44.95 which is a bargain.

I am pleased to say even office 2007 performs better under Windows 7, are you using Windows 7? How do you rate it...

IT Manager 3

So who's played IT Manager 3 Unseen forces? what did you think of it? how are you doing? what would you like to see?

As a keen player of the game I confess to playing it for many hours and I am now rated within the top 10. Personally having experience as an IT manager I found the game quite realistic providing typical issues and situations that would arise on a day to day basis.

It took me a while to learn that I could train my team so they were up to speed on the latest technologies, this helped provide support within my offices. One thing I would love to see is the possibility to go and purchase new hardware better machines / servers etc.

Mike
