Sonic Focus driver

During a Windows XP update, something happened and I got BSOD. After that, one of my programs said I needed "Sonic Focus drivers" etc. I have traced that to Intel Audio Studio, which will not execute...same message...need Sonic Focus drivers.

I have checked the Intel driver update for my board (D975XBX) and located the update that also re-intalls Audio Studio (

Audio: IDT* 92XX Driver5790.3v225/22/2008). The release notes say that

2. Intel Audio Studio does not support over-install or repair features. When update Intel Audio Studio, you must first uninstall the current driver before installing the new version.

Well, I don't think the driver is there anymore since I get this message that I need to install the driver, but I am not sure. Further checking of the Intel site to find where the driver might be didn't really help (e.g. device manger -- audio -- a bunch of codec stuff none of which is "sonic focus" and all of which is supposedly "working properly."

So, can I install this new driver? Do I need to unistall Audio Studio first?

Unable to Provision Windows 7 via SCCM

Hi all,

We have a Server 2008 R1 with SCCM 2007 R2 SP2 w/ WS Trans Mgmt installed and configrued. All is well and he have multiple Windows XP SP3 systems running on Lenovo T400 AMT 4.1.3 firmware. The issue we are having is with Windows 7 clients. The status that is showing up in SCCM is "Not Supported" and the logs for provisioing are below. I have bolded the item i think is the culprit.

The only option available, aside from divorcing the client from the site, is to in-band provision this machine via the ConfigMgr Client Agent. The oobmgmt.log on the client contains only success messages with nothing to indicate any problem. The AMT, SOL / ME Drivers were all installed correctly on the Windows 7 machine. The hash is also verified below as being in the ME BIOS.

After much review, i stumbled upon a document from technet stating that In-Band Provisioning via the SCCM SP2 agent is NOT SUPPORTED for Windows 7. The article can be reached here (Scroll down to the section regarding Out of Band Management toward the bottom).

Is this true? Can Windows 7 clients NOT be in-band Provisioned???

Which motherboards have Intel VT-d support?

I have been looking for weeks now for some list/specification on which Intel motherboards have support for VT-d. Iv found an unoficial list at some forum but I want got get the information directly from Intel. I have sent email to Intel and got the reply that "we do not offer interactive presales support." (for cosumer products). I have asked wendors but they dont know what Im talking about or refer to each motherboards specification on the Intel web site. I have looked at the specifications for motherboards and there is no information if it supports VT-d or not. Why is this so difficult?

Please mr Expert, do you know where to find this information?

Recently, I updated my driver for Intel PRo wireless 3945.

After that, there seems to be a conflict, therefore, I aslo update the software for Intel Pro Wireless 3945.

After I restart the computer, there's a message: "Intel Pro Set/wireless Zero Config service has encountered a problem and needs to close". What further can I do? I'm running Win XP SP3. Beore the driver update, the version I'm using is prob. 10.x.

SCCM SP1 Out of Band Mgmt AMT Client Settings

We are deploying a lot of new clients. Dell hasn't out a AMT 3.2 version yet on their clients wich is required for SCCM Out of Band Mgmt. So we can't test the integration with SCCM SP1 Beta.

We must order the clients now and don't know the required AMT Client Settings. We want to set all the settings by our OEM (Dell) before the hardware delivery.

We have an internal Microsoft Enterprise Root CA. We want to use Remote Configuration. When not required we want to use internal certificates and not official certificates.

What settings are required in the AMT Bios that we can automatically integrate our clients to SCCM SP1 Out of Band Mgmt?

Do we need to import the Root CA from our internal MS Enterprise Root CA on the AMT Clients or can we do this over Remote Configuration? Are any other settings requires? (Passwords, Ent. Mode, Provision Server)

Intel i7-920 temperature

I have the i7-920 cpu running on DX58SO Intel motherboard. I have the following problem for the second time.

I am running windows xp sp2 and i have intel desktop control center (last version) installed, when i go to check the cpu temperature it shows 127triangleT, whitch mean no temperature because the black arrow is on the beginning of the green and not the red.

when i go to the bios i see the temperature of the cpu 0c...........

my pc is fine i don't see any problem with the heat

ambiant 35c

cpu voltage regulator temperature 40c

IOH 43c

fans are all running fine, by the way this happened to me twice, 1 on the original bios and now on the updated bios so i don't think it's from the bios.

also if it's the cpu connector fan how it could be that it happened before...than worked normal than happening now?

so i really don't know where is the problem..is it from IDCC (intel desktop control center)?

I would like to have some answers especially from the intel forum

HP dc7700: ME can not be configured to use AMT

Hello.
I have a DC7700 here, which passes the "Intel vPro Technology Test Utility" ( http://communities.intel.com/docs/DOC-1171#Intel_vPro_Technology_Test_Utility), but there is no menu in the ME to actually configure it.

I successfully configured DC7800 and 7900 in basic mode with fixed ip-adress, so i have some experience concerning the involved menus.

I updated to the latest bios-version and the latest me-version, but this achieved nothing.

One thing is a bit special, we are running a custom bios-setup with customized pci-irqs. i attached the file "cpqsetup.txt".

Anybody seen this before?

Internal Enterprise Root CA Cert Expiration

If we have setup an internal root ca and have been manually importing the hash into vPro ME, what happens when the cert expires...? All of our clients will be provisioned using an expired cert. What would be the process to add the renewed cert...would it have to be a manual process?

Hi,

I am new to AMT vPro technology and just now testing it out on a new Dell 755 workstation. Initially, I attempted to provision the workstation in Enterprise mode, but was not having any luck with that. As a test, I switched to SMB mode and found that I can't access the web interface. I have been on the phone with Landesk support as well as Dell tech support to no avail.

After enabling vpro in the MEBx BIOS extension, I get the following status messages:

Following is a list of the troubleshooting steps I have tried so far:

Flashed the BIOS to version A08
Upgraded the MEBx from 3.0.2.0004 to 3.0.5.1125
Installed/reinstalled the Intel ME Interface (HECI) drivers
Installed/reinstalled the Intel AMT SOL/ LMS drivers
Reinstalled the NIC driver software
Unprovisioned/reprovisioned the workstation several times.
Reset the CMOS with jumper and by physically removing the battery.
Confirmed the AMT configuration settings with both Dell and Landesk tech support.

As you can see, I have invested a significant amount of time in troubleshooting on my own and with tech support. Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.

The main software that I work on are Matlab, Visual (C, C++) and maybe Java. I would like to know is this processor is enough for my necessities. For Win 7, I needed a compatible driver for my Intel Pro /1000MT network adapter. I downloaded the driver package Prowin 732.exe. Installed in C:/Windows and opened to error message "Cannot install drivers. No Intel adapters present". Device Manager shows the pro /1000MT adapter.

Does this Intel Matrix Storage Console have this available? If not, what options do I have to get this requirement met? Is there an HDD monitoring system that can warn me if a Hard drive reports failures or problems?

I used SCCMSP1 (build 4.00.6181.1000) provision with AMT 3.2.1 successfully and can remote power on/off AMT machine. When the out of band management console connects to the selected

AMT-based computer but console does not display any information. I check <ConfigMgrInstallationPath>\AdminUI\AdminUILog\Oobconsole.log. It indicate below reason: "GetAMTPowerState fail with result:0x80070035." This

could be a configuration issue in the AMT-based computer's BIOS extensions for

serial over LAN and IDE redirection. But I double check the setting and make sure enable "user name and password" for the serial over LAN and IDE redirection. Any wrong on the setting?

SCCM Certificates required for child sites?

Good Afternoon all,

I am attempting to configure Wake on Lan for a customer who has multiple sites. We have purchased a provisioning cert from GoDaddy for the Central site server which also sefrves as the OOB management point for the site. So far provisioning has hit a few bumps (I'll be posting seperately about that) but some machines are provisioning. The site architechture is pretty simple. There is a central site with a few secondary sites below it, and a primary site below the central site, which also has some secondary sites below it. My question is, do I need to purchase another cert for the OOB management point in the primary site below the central site? If not, do I just import the sert I have now into the primary servers store?

Any and all help is appreciated.

AMT Web UI - SCCM Provisioned

Hi all!

I am having difficulty obtaining access to the Web UI on an SCCM provisioned device. I can successfully reach the Web UI at https://FQDN:16993

When i try to login however, the AMT Accounts i specified in SCCM are not working. I found a post by Trevor at http://communities.intel.com/thread/3037 outlining a similar situation. I have tried logging into the web ui from the SCCM server without success. I have tried inputing the registry key required by the KB article but that did not work as well. I have confirmed that the Kerberos ticket IS issued however the ticket is issued to an SPN of HTTP/FQDN and not HTTP/FQDN:PORT. Is this correct?

Unauthorized Network Card is Plugged In - Lenovo T400

I have a Lenovo T400 x86 laptop with AMT version 4.1.3 that is fully configured and functional with SCCM and vPro. it is provisioned and all is well. However, when i restart the computer from within SCCM OOB, i am hit with a BIOS message

1802: Unauthorized network card is plugged in - Power off and remove the miniPCI network card.

And am unable to restart the computer locally even with CTRL-ALT-DEL. i need to fully power off..]]

Has anybody experienced this at all?

Hello,

Looking to buy new laptop which will come with three different CPU options, these are the slime line laptops.

First option Su4100 with shared graphic, claim to have 10 hours batter life

Second option Su7300 with shared or dedicated graphic

Third option SP9300 with dedicated graphic.

Assuming all other spec are the same

I need to keep a good balance between performance, battery life and processor temperature.

Do you have any recommendation for me, considering the difference in price is no issue?

Intel VT-x virtualization + Sun VirtualBox

I want to install a 64bit operating system to Sun's VirtualBox. It is mandatory to check VT-x/AMD-V under General setting, otherwise the 64bit guest will fail to detect the cpu and won't be able to boot. I checked that, but after trying to boot VirtualBox says that VT-x hardware acceleration has been enablet, but is not operational. It says that this feature should enabled in BIOS. However, there are no settings in my BIOS that could enable it and my vendor was not quite helpful. Is there any other way enable it or the BIOS is the only solution?

This message may seem too straight forward to question, but I'm confused. It seems to recommend downgrading the driver version. I would just look for the older version, but I have trust issues with wizards and error messages and it just doesn't seem right.

The message is as follows:

Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless Software version 11.5.0.0 does not support Intel(R)

PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection device driver version 12.2.0.11.

Please either update the driver to one of the following versions:
11.1.0.x;11.1.x;11.2.0.x;11.5.0.x.

Or install version 10.0.0.x of Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless Software

Help needed with Intel Pro Wireless 2200 BG

This device is on a Dell laptop and I have had no trouble at all for years. Now suddenly the computer does not recognize the wireless connection although the main window indicates an excellent connection. The computer is unable to connect to the internet using the "excellent" wireless connection. The internet is fine when I connect using the ethernet connection, but not the wireless. All indications are that the wireless connection is OK, except it just doesn't hook up with the internet anymore. Dell Inspiron Windows xp 4 years old and till now worked perfectly.

Any ideas?

I have installed VMware workstation 6.5.2, in this when I try to create a new virtual machine ESX 3.5 – it does not works. It says 2 popup error messages: (This happens in both the operating system)

While power on the virtual machine (VM) in workstation, in the right corner pop up menu like this:” THIS HOST DOES NOT SUPPORT VT: your have configured this virtual machine to use a 64-bit guest OS. However, this host is not capable of running 64-bit VM or this VM has 64-bit support is disabled – whether VT is available in this. If so, how to enable it?

2. While creating a VM in the workstation, I try to select the 64bit OS, in the bottom of this window it says, “This host will not support 64bit guest operating system” – what its mean to say? -- Whether Q9400 is 64 bit support OS. If so, why this error occurs??

82567LM network card drivers do not detect NIC in Windows Server 2008

I have a HP EliteBook 8530w Mobile Workstation which has an Intel 82567LM ICH9M Gigabit NIC.

I am installing Windows Server 2008 Enterprise 64-bit.

Using either the HP driver or the generic Intel driver achieves the same results.

It does not detect the card. "No Intel network cards installed."

Device Manager shows the Intel Network Controller with no driver.

Everest Ultimate detects the card.

But the driver cannot.

necessary files on a floppy disk. During Xp installation I select F6

and insert the floppy.

Slipstreaming Intel Matrix Storage Drivers in XP

I was hoping someone on this board could help me with slipstreaming Intel's latest Matrix Storage driver into an unattended XP install CD. I am looking to slipstream the files as TEXTMODE drivers, which should make the task easier. Unfortunately, all efforts to do this so far have resulted in failure.

First, before I tried anything, I slipstreamed SP3 into XP, copied my WINNT.SIF file to the I386 directory of the CD, and created a bootable XP unattended install disk that works like a charm. So I know the basic disk works.

Second, I modified this base XP install CD as such:

-At the root of the CD I created a directory called $OEM$ and then created a folder within that called TEXTMODE. Inside this $OEM$\TEXTMODE folder I copied the files from Intel's latest F6 floppy (f6flpy3286.zip):
    TXTSETUP.OEM
    iaahci.cat
    iaAHCI.inf
    iastor.cat
    iaStor.inf
    IaStor.sys

-In the I386 directory of the CD, I created a folder called $OEM$ and once again, copied the contents of Intel's latest F6 floppy (f6flpy3286.zip).

Note: So I now have two directories that hold the contents of Intel's latest F6 floppy: $OEM$\TEXTMODE and I386\$OEM$

-Then I modified the WINNT.SIF by changing the line OEMPreinstall=NO to OEMPreinstall=YES

-Finally, I added the [MassStorageDrivers]* and [OEMBootFiles] sections to the WINNT.SIF as below:

Now, technically, this should work. But each time I've tried it, I get the following error during XP's TEXTMODE install period:

BTW, I'd rather not use a program like nLite since it makes changes I'm not aware of and I would like to keep this as clean, simple and straightforward as possible.

DQ45CB - CPU & case fan speed (QST)

Hi there,

I recently upgrade my stock cpu fan with an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro ( http://www.arctic-cooling.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=1_42&mID=72) and two case fans Arctic Fan 9 PWM ( http://www.arctic-cooling.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=3_47_65&mID=109 ). The behavior of the mainboard is a little bit strange to me so I will describe it here in case anyone has more information to bring some light into this.

As you can see on the Arctic Cooling website you can daisy chain those fans which I did. The result was the fans were running pretty quiet and the fan speed was reported around 650 RPM. I tried to put some load on the system (prime95) and the cpu temeprature went up but the fans were still spinning at the same rate. No matter what I tried in terms of load I couldn't make them spin faster. The core temperature reported was around 60 C (using CoreTemp utility). I'm not sure if this a normal behavior or not on this mainboard. On the older boards I used the speed of fans was increasing with the load. Then I tried something else. I left on the CPU fan socket connected only the Freezer 7 Pro and connect the other two PWM fans on the 3 pins headers from the mainboard (front & rear ). The result was the CPU fan is running now around 900 RPM and sits there no matter what load I add to it. The core temperature is the same , around 60C. The interesting thing happened with the case fans which now are spinning between 900 - 1700 RPM and changing the speed every 1 or 2 seconds. So basically they spin up and then down every second or two which is annoying and generate a lot of noise too. Do you think there is an incompatibility of some sort between those fans and the mainboard ? They are brand new and I test them on a different system (Asus mainboard) and they perform normal there. Also I went into BIOS and I was playing with the Fan Control settings which for me didn't change anything as far as I can see in the reporting fan speeds . I went also into the Maintenance mode of BIOS and enable "Unlock QST" feature but without any visible changes to me. Then I tried to disable the QST from the AMT menus but this didn't work at all. I tried couple of times and it seems to be consistent : as soon as I change the QST setting into Disabled and the system restarts the fans are start spinning at full speed, and the system doesn't post anymore. The only way to bring it back to life is to reset the CMOS by removing the battery. Anyone else notice this ?

I'm running the latest BIOS from Jan 22 I think on the board and the CPU I have is a Q9650.

I am using a Local Agent to set Conf Server FQDN (command is 0x04000034), but unable to do.

Then I set Conf Server FQDN manually through BIOS Extn, but Local Agent unable to get FQDN which is set through BIOS Extn.

Can anybody tell me how to set Configuration Server FQDN using Local Agent & HECI driver ?

Is there any command to add temporary root certificate hash entry ?

Also all commands which can be performed through HECI driver.

DG45ID - Intel VT Support

I have a Intel DG45ID motherboard on which I'd like to run Server 2008 and Hyper-V.

I bought a Q8200 processor which I know know doesn't support VT. I have recently learned that both Q8200 and Q8300 processors lack VT technology support (Contrary to intels website, which a few weeks back suggested all Quad cores came with VT support).

My question is will the DG45ID motherboard support VT if I provide it with a VT processor such as a Q9300?

I can not see any settings in the BIOS which suggest its VT capable. Perhaps it requires a VT processor before showing any VT options but I'd like an expert to confirm it before i part with a few hundred dollars for a new proc

AMT Provisioning hell

Am having major issues with getting clients to provision, with a couple of different error messages. I've read through a lot of the posts on this forum and have been pulling my hair out for days now (pulling hair doesn't fix it).

One client is AMT version 4.0.8 the other is 3.2.1. I am using an internally provisioned certificate as this is a proof of concept before purchasing a 3rd party cert later on. For the AMT 4.0.8 client, provisioning almost works, the client certificate is issued and the object is created in AD, but then the process fails. Here is the relevent portion of the log:

Intel Mangement Engine BIOS Extn boot problems

Hey

I am just a home user trying to setup a media server, and i have done something to my BIOS, and now when my pc boots up, i get the following;

Found unconfigure of Intel ME....

Continue with unconfiguration (Y/N)

If i select N, sometimes get a bunch of stuff around table mismatch. Sometimes will boot into OS. Mostly boots into OS once N selected.

If i select Y, the PC reboots and the whole thing starts again.

I have reflashed bios so many times, and taken out coin battery etc. Have set BIOS to optimal etc.

Any suggestions?

SCCM SP1 R2 (Beta) Activation

As part of demo I am building for a trade show, I spent some time yesterday working with the Intel AMT Team to get my vPro systems activated. I call them the Intel Team because I had resources from multiple divisions (IT, DO, EPI, SSG) of Intel helping me get activated.

My demo is utilzing the AMT capability and the (new) application streaming capability of SCCM. A requirement for my demo is to have AMT activated in Enterprise mode and to pre-package applications that can be centrally distributed. I found that SCCM R2 activates the same as SCCM SP1. I would follow any of the instruction already posted at this site for usage.

What I wanted to mention was the usage of the amtopmgr.log file and using the Systems Management Server 2003 Toolkit 2. The amtopmgr.log file can be found in \Program File\Microsoft Configuration Manager\logs. During the activation/provisioning stage, this file is very useful. It gives status and AMT activity. I was pointed to using the SMS Trace tool (trace32.exe) with the amtopmgr.log file.

To use the tool, just launch the executable file. Once open, use the "Open File" and drill down to your log file. The SMS Trace tool reads the file real-time and will aid you with troubleshooting during activation or it can be used to watch progress of that activation. The tool has search, print, and copy functions.

Advanced Bios Settings Unavailable - PAPV. Screenshot Attached.

I have an Intel DG45ID multimedia motherboard, and i need to change some of the advanced BIOS settings (specifically Protected Audio Video Path - PAPV).

This is why and what i need to adjust http://techgage.com/article/intel_desktop_board_dg45id/3 - the screenshots here show more settings than i have, i.e. PAPV. Here is the screeshot from this site.

My problem is, I cannot seem to access the 'advanced' settings that i need to....they just don't show up at all.

According the the BIOS manual (http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/biosglossarybymenu_v09.pdf.) there are many settings i should have visibiltiy of, but don't.

Any idea? Do i need to enter another keystroke to enter advanced BIOS settings?

BTW - any suggestions on how i F2 to enter BIOS using multi-media USB KB - Mobo has no PS2.

Intel AMT IMSS fails on Windows 7

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate Build 7000 on a HP Compaq dc7900. I was able to successfully download and install the HECI 5.0 driver from HP's website.

The Intel Management and Security Status Application (IMSS), which is a separate download, fails to install, however. This means I can't install the virtual serial port driver, the Local Manageability Service, the User Notification Service, and the AMT status monitor application.

Is this application being updated for Windows 7?
Is there a method of bypassing the operating system check on setup.exe? How can I trick it into thinking it's Windows Vista SP1?

Creating a USB key for PKI provisioning

Can anyone point me in the right direction to create a .bin file with my root certificate hash and put it on a USB key? I've been told its possible and that the USBkey utility from Intel can do it, but there don't seem to be any clear instructions on how to do this (atleast none that I can find). SCCM SP1, AMT and Omnino III provisioning problems

I'm trying to provision our Viglen Omnino III's (AMT 5.1) for Out-of-Band management with SCCM SP1. We're using an internal CA. I have created a setup.bin using the Manageability Director Tool, using the 'Remote Configuration' to create ad export the setup.bin to a usb key. After a lot of struggle the test client finally moved off the 'detected' status to 'unsupported'.

SCCM does recognize the hash key, and the Provision task does run. But it throws errors :

"Failed to send TLS client hello message to server with errorcode=0x2733." and "**** Error 0x19fb95c returned by ApplyControlToken" and "Fail to connect and get core version of machine amttest.xx.local using provisioning account #0.".

When I trigger a Management Controller Discovery, I get the following errors:

"CAMTDiscoveryWSMan::DoConnectToAMTDevice: Failed to establish tcp session to 192.168.0.11:16992." and "CAMTDiscoveryWSMan::DoConnectToAMTDevice: Failed to establish tcp session to 192.168.0.11:16993."

For the purpose of this exercise, I have removed the firewalls.

Pointing a browser to 192.168.0.11:16992 or 16993 results in a 'webpage cannot be displayed' message.

Any idea where I'm going wrong?

AMT Status stuck at "Detected"

HP 2530p / ME firmware 4.1.1

We are currently setup with an internal certificate, and the hash has been inserted into the MEBx. ME password set a to P@ssw0rd and added as an AMT Provisioning and Discovery Account. The SCCM client is installed on the laptop and the AMT version is being reported. AMT Status is stuck at Detected, no matter how many times I do a partial or full unprovision, or even a AMT reset from the BIOS.

Everytime I attempt to discover OOB management controllers on this machine, the AMTOPMGR.LOG reports:

Expiring AMT client certificates

I'm curious to understand what happens when an AMT client certificate expires. How does Configuration Manager know to generate and send down a new client certificate before it expires? Does it keep track of this information somewhere? What happens if ConfigMgr is unable to contact the client ahead of time, and the certificate expires .... Will ConfigMgr still be able to connect using digest auth to push down a new cert?

hi everyall,

I have some problems with my computers. When i'm connect to my AMT computers with Intel Manageability Commander tool , i have this warning "Connection name, DNS name, certificate name mismatch." So when I try to connect to my computer by script, i can not connect to AMT .

For renew certificate and connection, etc .. I think I must do unprovision partial my computers or it's possible to inject new certificate ? . So I used UnprovisionEx intel application, but can not work because it not connect to AMT for TLS reasons. Somebody have a script for partial unprovision computers ?? I managed my computers with Intel SCS.

TCP DUP ACKs and losing TCP packets

I have been trying to solve this problem with Intel(R) PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter and using Intel(R) PROSet Version 13.5.32.0 drivers.

The network connects with 1 Gbps but I have already downgraded it to 100 Mbps but with no luck. It's still works slow. I changed all the wires but no luck.

Now when I'm really desparate I used wireshark to capture packets, and something seems to be broken.

There's lots of "TCP DUP ACK", "TCP previous segment lost", "TCP out of order" and "TCP Retransmission". This is when the network is used. When using FTP the prosentual loss is something like 50%. Even normal internet usage lost some packets. Both ends seem to say the same thing.

Any ideas about this? For me it seems to be that NIC is broken.

I opened the DX58SO motherboard box and saw a yellow piece of paper stating the board can only take 1.6V or lower of ram, I noticed my unopend Corsair Dominator (Corsair TR3X6G1600C8D Dominator 6 GB 3 x 2 GB PC3-12800 1600MHz 240-Pin DDR3 Core i7 Memory Kit) ram was 1.65V. I wanted to know if this setup will work fine or if I need to return it and get 1.60V Ram.

i am using an hp dc7800 desktop with the latest bios and mebx f/w and have reprovisioned with a usb key from an intel scs console generated psk pair. i have also disabled the vista firewall and have reinstalled the heci driver off the hp web site.

the run string i use is"rct.exe /c /f /h /s https://hpopenview.vprodemo.com/amtscs"

I use intel pro-set to pre-authenticate my domain credentials. I notice that intel updated a number of drivers recently. Since then, i have had trouble pre-authenticating. I dont see the script at all at login. It does authenticate eventually, but after it logs onto the domain. I have seen this on Dells and Lenovo's, also with drivers and proset loaded directly from intel. Any thoughts?

Need to change the Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) size for vPro packets

Hi!

I am trying to configure vPro workstations to be managed by a Landesk server. I am able to get a workstation through the "provisioning" process successfully, however, I am not able to perform any of the remote management functions (from the Landesk server) after it has gone through the provisioning process. What I did discover is that I am able to access the workstation's AMT web page from any workstation/server on the same subnet. However, when trying to access it from a workstation/server on a different subnet, the web page fails to load.

In order to troubleshoot the issue further, I ran a Wireshark capture of the traffic while trying to access the workstation's AMT web page from the Landesk server. I found that the "don't fragment" flag is set on the packets before the traffic dies out. After talking with our network team, I found that the MTU size accross our WAN is set to 1400. We did test allowing the traffic from the vPro workstation to the Landesk server to transmit packets above the 1400 limit and the vPro management works great.

So, long story short, I need to be able to set the MTU size to be less than 1400 bytes in order to keep the packets from fragmenting. This appears to be the only way to get the vPro communication to work across our WAN link.

Any ideas?

Hello smart people,

I have a situation which may/may not sound familiar to you. I have a unified ghost image which we use for all of our desktops and laptops. The short of the long is that we have some plug-in equipment that want to use com-port 3 via a PCI add-in card. Is there some type of command-line utility I can run which will set the com port to a specified com port like COM12? I'm working with Dell Optiplex 755 and 760 models. If I build the image with the drivers installed on one model and set it to COM12, the other device will still show up as COM3 when it's detected. Blah. Anyways thanks.

- Is it possible to write Executable Code on the Flash?

- If so, would it be a 16 or 32 bits code ?

Hi vPro experts!! I'm deploying a vPro lab with SCCM SP1 and a Dell Optiplex 755 client, with 3.2.1 MEBx version, the client is provisioned without SCCM agent, but when y try to power on/off/restart or try to open Out of Band Management Console I receive this error in OOBConsole.log (when try to open the console) and in the amtopmgr.log file shows those errors:

ERROR: Invoke(get) failed: 80020009argNum = 0

Description: The I/O to get CIM_AssociatedPowerManagementService instance.

AMT Operation Worker: AMT machine client.vprolab.com can't be waken up. Error code: 0x800703E3

I checked the requisites, security in OU, certificates and there is no way to solve it.

Somebody knows what could be wrong, please?

My Environment:

SCCM 2007 SP1 running in mixed mode on Windows Server 2003 SP2 Standard
Enterprise Root CA on Server 2008 Enterprise
Purchased provisioning certificate from Verisign as per procedure.

I've followed the 'Quick Start Install Guide for MS CfgMgr SP1 Out of Band Management Rev1_9.pdf' document to setup and configure vPro in my environment.

All of the clients I have already been deployed and are running AMT 3.0.1 (hp dc7800p's mostly), they have not been provisioned previously.

From the Quick Start guide I've installed the WS-Man translator which apparently is required to provision AMT clients prior to 3.2.1, it's from here I'm a little bit confused as to how I can remotely provision these machines without having to manually touch each one??

SCCM clients are already pushed out and functional on all these clients so I have means of remotely configuring each machine via command line.. there's several hundred machines though so manually touching each machine isn't an option..

I guess I just need the high level steps on what I need to do?? any URL's to walk through this would be greatly appreciated too!

I am developing a process to Pre-Provisioning a fleet of nearly 17,000 HP Compaq DC7900 desktops for AMT. We are in a Windows Systems Center Configuration Manager 2007 environment and utilize an internal Certificate Authority PKI infrastructure with 802.1x enabled. I have successfully pre-provisioned a small set of lab desktops using the UKPU utility which embedded our root CA thumbprint and defined a new MEBx password in our test environment.

Has anyone ever scripted or automated the UKPU utility to run remotely through SMS distributions or SCCM advertisements? Is this a possibility? I am looking for any options I have aside from walking to each individual pc and pre-provisioning manually with USB drive or through WINPE.

Hi,

We are in the process of exploring vPro with SCCM 2007 in our lab environment.

We followed the 'Quick Start Install Guide for MS CfgMgr SP1 Out of Band Management Rev1_9' to setup our CA and install SCCM

and the appropriate post installation steps in SCCM.

The Client PC in our environment: Dell Optiplex 755
Bios Version : A12
AMT Version : 3.2.2

As we didn't have a 3rd party certificate(verisign, godaddy or comodo), we included the CA's certificate thumbprint

value onto the AMT machine by logging into the MEBx.

We had to change the MEBx default password from 'admin'.

We also defined the new MEBx password in SCCM 'Out of Band Management' component properties.

Now SCCM identifies the AMT PCs as status 'Detected', but we couldn't bring it to the state 'Provisioned'

We have the 'Intel WS-Management Translator' installed and configured.

We also tried the 'SelfSignedFix.vbs' following(http://communities.intel.com/openport/community/openportit/vproexpert/microsoft-vpro/blog/2008/08/19/intel-amt

-321-selfsigned-certificate-issue-and-working-around-it-for-microsoft-system-configuration-manager-sp1) and get an error stating 'cannot connect to client'

when the command "cscript SelfSignedFix.vbs https://VIRSRV4.VIRTUALDC.COM 192.168.1.215 c:\temp N" is tried.

We have made the new MEBx password in the 'SelfSignedFix.vbs' as well.

The AMTopmgr.log says the following:
Incoming Connection from 192.168.1.215:16994.
Incoming data is - Configuration version: PKI Configuration.
Count : 14
UUID : 4C4C4544-004C-4810-8046-B9C04F314253
Error: Hash list of AMT device 4C4C4544-004C-4810-8046-B9C04F314253 doesn't contain our provision server certificate hash.

Are we missing any steps ?

Half-way provisioned machines

Ok,

I've solved my provisioning issue. However, during that time, I've accumulated 60 half-provisioned machines. I say half way because for the most part, they

were half way into the process, in that they created the AD Objects, but the SCCM Client is not recognizing that they fully provisioned. So it looks like my 3rd party certificate was still good in that my OOB MP was able to connect using the OTP and start the provisioning process. Once it got to the point to generate the provisioning cert for the MEBx, the process died because the authentication chain was broken.

Now, here comes the $64,000 question. What is the best way to remediate this? Should I send an unprovision program using the tool to reset the MEBx and force provisioning a second time? Or this there a better way to do this? Thanks for your help.

OOB console terminal display in windows2008

My customer install SCCM SP1 on windows2008 server. We provision successfully with Lenovo/DELL vPro machine and can remotely control machine with OOB console,but there are no display in OOB console terminal when we remotely reboot vPro in BIOS. It's said that OOB console need use hyperterminal program for display and control, but Windows2008 remove hyperterminal program from accessories. We try to copy hyperterminal execution file and DLL in the OOB console directory to solve the issue,but it still does not work. Does anyone how to run OOB terminal in windows2008?

AMT WEBui login failure in SMB mode

I can't login from the other machine. It complains about username, password or something is disabled.

Username: admin, password: which is the MEBx password. WEBui is enabled and running (I can connect).

MEBx config working. I changed the password. Notebook is in DHCP mode. Browser: Firefox 3.0.1x.

What do I have to check?

I have the latest bios, Intel drivers. I've been getting random system hangs where the entire server locks up with HD light on solid.

I currently have a Microsoft driver dated 3/26/2009 Version 9.13.4.10, but I understand that a new driver is available in the file PROWIN732.exe, however when I run this program I get the error, "Error 1713.Intel(R) Network Connections cannot install one of it's required products, Contact tech support. Please tell me how to install the new driver.

The specifications state as part of the vPro features, it supports VT-d. I currently own a E8400, and according to this link: http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=33910, it does support regular VT but it not support VT-d. I was looking at some higher end CPU's, and came to the conclusion that they do support VT-d (for example: http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=40200). But those arent socket 775. So which CPU am I suppost to fit in this board in order to support the VT-d function?

Intel SCS don't want to reprovision computers because certificat was expired.

Have you some tool for force renew request certificat on amt computers ? tools similar like Activator ?

My computers was configured with PSK .If I made an unprovision partial, I loose PID/PPS on it, right ?

Desktop Board DP55WB low sound PLEASE HELP!

Hi there thanks for taking the time to check out my post this is a really weird problem I have been having. I have just built a custom PC using a Intel DP55WB and a fresh copy of WIndows 7 I have installed all the latest drivers on Intels site. The problem is that when I connect my spearks into the back of the motherboard I get sound but it's so low that you can't hear nothing. Also I must add I checked my speakers with a boombox, old eMachine and a iMac and they all work on them but will not work on a newer eMachine and this build with a DP55WB same results. I have done the following to trouble shoot and I'm getting very fustrated/mad that I can't figure this out.

1. Checked all volume settings all to the max

2. Checked BIOs Audio is turned on

3. All connectors are in place on motherboard

4. Installed latest drivers from Intel site

Please if anyone can shine some light on this issue I would be very happy as of right now this is the only issue that I'm having.... Note the chat support that Intel has they don't have my board listed wish they would!

Provisioning stopped after CA Rebuild

I've gotten to provision approximately 200 vPro clients using SCCM SP1. The process was running nice and smoothly for months now. However, do to unforeseen circumstances, our Network group had to rebuild our CA. Supposedly, everything has been restored to the way it once was, however, I am seeing a consistent break in the process.

Going to our OOB MP and looking at the amtproxymgr.log file, I see: "ERROR: ICertRequest2->Submit failed: 0x80070005."

I've seen this error early on when first building out our infrastructure. We have a multi-domain hierarchy and our CA sits in our top level "Domain1.com" and the OOB Management point sits in "Domain2.com". Refering to Microsoft's guidance here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc161803.aspx, we needed to add SCCM.Domain2.com to CERTSRV_DOM_ACCESS sitting in Domain1.com.

In the past, this resolved our issue and we were able to begin provisioning. Now, hoever, with the assurances that were given about the environment being restored, we are seeing the same issue where the chain is not being validated due to a block in rights.

My question is this, do we need to remove and then rebuild the OOB Mgmt Role on our Management Point for the provisioning process to be restored? Or could it be that there is still an oversite in that our OOB was not actually added to the correct Security group to manage the provisioning certificate?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Activator utility, provisioning options

After learning of the provisioning methods for the Intel AMT device (Manual, USB one-touch, OEM pre-load, RCFG with certificates), I was disappointed that there is not an easier solution option available.

If our computers/network are behind a corporate firewall, and security is not a concern, shouldn’t there be an easier way to authenticate the Intel AMT device using software only, i.e. a scripted solution between the client and the server?

Are there any other options that I am not aware of to complete the provision process using software only, i.e. software utilities between the AMT devices and the server?

I have read about the RCT, aka Activator.exe utility, and tried to provision a computer but it didn't work. Will the Activator utility work with out having put any pre-shared keys into the Intel AMT device? Or does it require the keys in order to work? Thanks.

We are attempting to provision systems already deployed within our organization. The systems I am dealing with now are HP dc7900p with AMT 5.0.1. Yesterday, I attempted to provision (client based) 22 systems, all new out of the box within the last 3 weeks. They have never bbeen provisioned or attempted to be provisioned.

Of the 22, 19 went fine and 3 I got the following log entries from AMTOPMGR.LOG:

I am trying to get Intel vPro (AMT - Active Management Technology) activated and running in our environment. One of the steps required to get the machines activated is the provisioning process. Has anyone ever used Dell services to have them do an OEM pre-load aka pre-provsioning service, for an enterpise deployment? At the web link below, Dell says they will provide pre-provisioning services, but when I bring it up with our Dell contact, he says their engineers can't do it. Thanks.

Should provisioning and activation be an "opt-in" option?

Before you answer the question - let me provide some background.

First - to realize the value of vPro the system must be provisioned in some manner - Basic, Standard, or Advanced. I'm not saying don't use the technology - I'm pointing out that a dedicated provisionserver and up front effort may not be needed. What I'm suggesting is the technology should be already configured in a Basic or Standard mode when the unit is unboxed.

Second - I highly recommend you read the blog post on maintaining the configuration when a provisionserver does not exist - http://communities.intel.com/openport/blogs/proexpert/2008/09/15/what-if-provisionserver-is-not-available-how-can-i-configure-and-manage-systems-without-it or http://juice.altiris.com/node/5659.

If you're managing a lab, doing training, setting up a staging area, looking to utilize the functions of vPro with multiple client mgmt systems, or related items - do you really need to fully unprovisioning Intel vPro every time, followed by a provisioning sequence? (okay - if you're using SCCM, perhaps. BUT - if you're using other solutions, or want to cohost, do you really need to redo the whole provisioning event to just use the technology? Hint: the answer is likely no)*

Third - We enjoy a world where computers come with and are able to do something out of the box, right? Why can't vPro\AMT be like that? If you want to change the configuration to your taste - just like building\managing\deploying an image for the system - shouldn't the vPro\AMT configuration be the same? (again, read the linked article above to understand what I'm getting at... and NO - I'm not saying avoid the whole Provisioning process)*

Hi,

We plan to put ISO image on a Linux based file server, but Linux seems has a problem to support ISO file in IDER. When mounting iso image to a local directory such as ‘/mnt/cdrom', and sent iso image file name as the ider cdrom to libimrsdk library, it didn't work. I also mounted ISO file as a CDROM by using losetup and redirected the device before, it didn't work too. Anyone has experince about this?

My name is George and I am the IT manager of a company. One month ago our company purchased the storage device: INTEL SS4200-E. We installed four new Western Ddigital 1TB hard drives that are full compatible to the storage device (according to Intel Compatibility List for the SS4200-E). The Current Device Software Version is: 1.0.8.29352 .Yesterday we had a power failure due to black outs made from Greek Electricity Company. When electricity came back to normal, we realized that the disk one led, were blinking an orange color. After thirty to fifty second all four hard drive leds did the same thing. We received an email saying “Storage Device Degraded: The storage device is degraded and data protection is at risk. A drive might have failed or been removed from your storage device. Please visit the Dashboard on the management interface for details. To prevent possible data loss, this issue should be repaired as soon as possible.” Through the home page of the storage system we tried to indentify the problem and a message appeared saying that one new disk detected and if we want to add it to the disk array. Then it asked us to type yes. So we typed yes. From this moment onward everything went wrong. Then it started to rebuild the hard drive. After completing this procedure a message again appeared that four new disks appeared in the array and had to type again yes. So we did the exact same thing again. This procedure took approximately 10 (ten) hours. We thought that the device was recovering the lost data. Again it proved us wrong.

So I would like to ask you if you can propose any solution to solve the specific problem and recover the missing data. Sorry for the long email but these files are very crucial to our company (Payments, Customer data, Order data etc). Thank you in advanced.

My name is Michael from NTT Communications.

If you know someting information to my problem, please let me know.

Our project team developed a private firewall from Miracle Linux with custmising IPTables on the number of about 1700 NEC Express 5800 PC Server and FT Server last year.

We delivered this to the about 1700 points in Japan.

We have to controll LAN side interface (as eth0 on Linux) by scheduling application, so should be down LAN side interface at the time and after should be up LAN side interface at another time by requesting from user.

We use the 'ifconfig eth0 down/up' command for this task.

Someday, we scheduled all of firewalls as be downed eth0 at 2AM JST and upped eth0 at 6AM JST.

A Interface down process was going nomal on all of the firewalls but a interface up process was not going nomal on some firewalls.

So the 'ifconfig eth0 down' was performed good but the 'ifconfig eth0 up' was performed not good.

We seemed the eth0 interface is nomal starting up after performing the 'ifconfig eth0 up', because we could see good status (=Link is UP) from performing the 'ifconfg eth0' and 'ethtool eth0'.

But those firewall could got packets from eth0 but could not send only one packet.

We have been resolving this for few months, but we can not resolve this.

We found a difference in case of nomal and another as show bellow.

In case of normal:

We found 'Link become ready" messages after massaging "Link is not ready" at starting up eth0 interface in syslog.

In case of failure:

We could not found 'Link become ready" messages after massaging "Link is not ready" at starting up eth0 interface in syslog.

But we could found "Link become ready" after 19 days on untouched those environment.

certification question for AMT SDK sample (eventlogreader.exe)

In AMT SDK, there are 1 eventlogreader samples (WS-Management). There are 1 cert option in the parameter. I provision the AMT client with SCCM. Which certification name need by type if I used MS CA server? For example, my CA server is sccmsp1.vprodemo.com, certification name is sccmsp1-vpro. I tried a lot of name, but the commander still display error. Who can educate me which name should be type in the case?

USB Key Provision in PSK without "provisionserver" DNS entry

I´m trying to provision a mix of AMT machines using USB Key provisioning and PSK (Landesk 8.8 Sp2a) - due to the DNS infrastructure I can´t define option 15 (Provisioning server) as I will have multiple Landesk server. Is there a way to edit the setup.bin file to pass on the IP address of the provisioning server so that it does not try to resolveusing DNS?

DHCP and DNS registrations with AMT

I've noticed that our DHCP (Windows 2003) server has started to fill up with leases for system name HPsystem.mydomain.com. I panicked and thought I'd missed a step in my preparation. I have our DHCP configured to register DNS names dynamically but did not have it set to Dynamically update DNS records for clients that do not request updates. I checked that box and now it looks like my clients are starting to get registered correctly. I see registrations happening for HPSystem.mydomain.com as well as the computername.mydomain.com on the same IP. In DNS the comutername is showing registered now. Is this how it's supposed to happen?

Is there a document somewhere that details what happens in DHCP and ultimately in DNS to vPro enabled computers?

What's the secret to getting IDE-Redirect / Serial Connection 'active' in SCCM?

I've gotten my vPro systems Provisioned and can connect and restart them in my SCCM OOB mgmt console. I can also open the workstation web pages. I cannot however get the Serial or IDE Redirect to be active. Is there a trick to activating them on the client-side for use with SCCM?

SCCM and provisioning clients in multiple child domains

I have a question related to whether MS SCCM SP1 can provision Intel vPro clients in child domains, and whether this is achieved using multiple AMT provisioning certiifcates or wildcard certificates

My scenario is that I have a top level domain (say CONTOSO.COM), and under this I have multiple child domains (say SITE1, SITE2, SITE3 etc) for each seperate site or building in my organisation. I have Intel vPro clients spread across those sites or buildings which means they each live in a different child domain (SITE1.CONTOSO.COM, SITE2.CONTOSO.COM etc) depending on their location

Each of the clients receives domain information (telling them which domain they reside in) from their DHCP server using DHCP option 15. The SCCM Out of Band Service Point lives either in the top level domain (CONTOSO.COM) or one of the child domains (it does not matter which one) and has an AMT Provisioning Certificate. For provisioning to be successful, the Intel vPro clients will compare the domain information received from their DHCP server with the domain information contained in the CN (common name) field of the AMT Provisioning Certificate and they will need to match. This will obviously be a challenge given the multiple child domains

My questions:-

Can the SCCM Out of Band Service Point provision Intel vPro clients in all child domains of CONTOSO.COM ?

Does it do this by supporting multiple AMT Provisioning Certificates with each certificate having the domain portion of its CN (common name) field set to match the domain provided by the DHCP server for that section of the network (e.g. AMT Provisioning Certificates contain CN field of SCCM.SITE1.CONTOSO.COM, SCCM.SITE2.CONTOSO.COM etc), or does it do this by supporting a single AMT Provisioning Certificate which is a wildcard certificate (e.g. CN field set to *.CONTOSO.COM) ?

Is there a different way of achieving this without resorting to wildcard certificates or multiple certificates on a single Out of Band Service Point, perhaps by establishing multiple SCCM Out of Band Service Points ?

Any guidelines would be appreciated

DG45ID and ADD2 card

I'm upgrading a system to the DG45ID, and it needs to support dual monitors via DVI. The board obviously had a single integrated DVI-I port (in addition to the HDMI port). The manual references compatibility with ADD2/MEC cards. It also mentions installation of a PCI-E card disables the integrated graphics ports. I tried installing a dual-DVI ADD2 card (Wintec), assuming the on-board DVI port would be disabled, but can't get this config to work. So either I've got a bad ADD2 card or mobo, or I interpreted the manual wrong, and I should be using a single head DVI ADD2 card, in conjunction with the integrated DVI port. I'm currently using the old dual-DVI NVIDIA card, but I'd like to be able to get the integrated graphics working. So, should I be using a single head ADD2 card, or should I look at RMAing the ADD2 card and/or mobo.

we are experiencing the following problem:

we have MS SCCM 2007 SP1 R2 central site installed on windows 2008 SP2 enterprise with SQL Server 2008 Enterprise and using internal CA for our AMT machines. We have entered manually the certificate hash in the client machines.
What we experiencing is that we don't see any computer in the AMT OU in AD (it is empty!).
We have successfully provisioned some computers and we can stop and start them using SCCM, but we can't connect to them using the Out of band management console or through the web interface. We have granted full access to the AMT OU and all child objects as required according the documentation for the Primary Site servers group(we have followed Quick Start Install Guide for SCCM SP1 Rev1.9.1 ).
We have made also the required change in the registry according to the KB908209 (for the web based connection) and also tried to start the out of band management console from the central site, where the required patch KB960804 is installed.
A look in the amtopmgr.log give us no error, related to the AMT OU in the AD container. The error in the OOBConsole.log is the following:

When we tested the AMT technology in our test environment, we have in the AMT OU the computers which was provisioned.

Greetings all!

Like most I have a problem. Mine seems rather strange to be honest. I added new ram and the board became turtle slow on POST. I have a Core 2 Quad, and I have a DQ45CB, both fairly new. Originally came with 4 gigs of ram, 2x2g pc2 6400 800mhz if that matters. Everything was running great until i installed 2 more modules. With the modules inserted, the blue screen with the intel logo at the very begining is painfully slow to load. It actually draws the screen line by line, like downloading a .jpg used to be on a 2400 baud modem! This screen used to take a few seconds to load, now it's in the neighborhood of a minute. Also, when I access the bios, these screens an excessively long time to load as well. I can actually watch it draw the text for each option window in the bios as I arrow over from screen to screen where as before it was instant.

Everything is set to defaults and the only thing I've done is add the memory. When I take the modules out it goes back to lightning fast.

I'm running windows 7 64 bit too, but the problem doesn't seem to be with windows. It's occuring before the system actually starts to load the OS. The OS seems to be taking a good deal longer to load as well.

Any ideas?

My desktop has this mother board listed in the topic. Initially it was equipped with one fan and the processor fan. I installed another fan and now it will not boot up. This is also after I blew all the dust out of it as well. Could any of this be related? I am not a wizard by any stretch of the imagination. Can anyone offer suggestions?

I've been trying to build a test environment with LANDESK Management Suite 8.8(45-day trial) to manage Intel vPro PCs(Model : Optiplex 755, AMT 3.x)

Ive tried to provision the client PC that am trying to manage with the "One-touch USB provisioning" method but the provisioning status on the client PCs shows up as success or completed but the <https://10.10.1.20:16993/> page doesn't open (10.10.1.20 = a client's ipaddress)

Here are the steps which i followed:

1. Installed LDMS 8.8.

2. Did a network scan to identify the PCs in my network.

3. Installed LDMS clients on the client PCs.

4. Exported 15 PID/PPS using the vPro ID generation option available in LDMS

a.Entered a password in the 'vPro configuration' tab

b.Selected 'TLS mode provisioning' in the 'vPro configuration' tab

5. Exported the 'setup.bin' to a USB key formatted in FAT16

6. Made client PCs boot thro the USB key and selected Y(yes) when prompted with the provisioning option on the initial screen.

7. Rebooted the machine when prompted after the provisioning completed without any errors.

After all these steps, when i tried to open <https://10.10.1.20:16993/> it shows up as 'page cannot be displayed'

Also, to addup to this., I don't have a 3rd party certificate(verisign or godaddy)

As am doing a 'One-touch provisioning' i thought a certificate isn't necessary. Also i don't have a 'certification authority' installed in my environment.

SMB mode provisioning is working good and am able to explore all vPro capabilities but am a bit concerned with Enterprise mode provisioning

Please correct me if am wrong in the process of provisioning or if my current network setup is lagging on something that i missed on.

file name is "HV86AP15BI.EXE" is a zip fle. I need to run this in dos mode because i dont have operating system in my pc. Even i am facing so many problems when i loading xp. So i decided to update bios. The zip file which i downloaded, i unziped it and copied only two files in bios bootable cd "FLASH.EXE and P15_0050.BIO". When i run the i flash.exe, main menu will come "update flash memory area from a file". Then "update system bios". now it will ask to enter the path and data image file. I cellected P15_0050.BIO and press enter. Then red window will come it will show 50%comp and disapier within a second. and red error mesage window will come "(H03):could not open input file "

And I tried other command also from Z:\IFLASH /PF P15_0050.BIO but same error willcome. Is it a rite prociedure of updating bios ? and is it a rite file which i downloaded bios update file? Please help me

Matrix RAID 1 failure on reboot

Hello. I have a recurring issue with Intel Matrix Storage Console and a RAID 1 array I can create from an existing drive. I'm using two identical 400gb drives (same firmware, one was shipped with the PC) and am trying to create a mirror of an existing drive. I can create the mirror and it will complete the action without error. Currently, the array is healthy. If I power off the system and power it back on the array is failed, both drives show as present yet missing from the array and are red and the system will not boot until I have cleared their RAID status and rebooted using only drive id 0. The other drive is recognized by Windows as a regular volume with all data copied from id 0. I can then recreate the array and after several hours it is 'protected' again. I have tried the second drive in ports 3 and 4.

Question is - how can I allow this array to survive a reboot?

On an Intel DX58SO Motherboard Running Bios 10/20/2009 with an Intel 82567LM-2 network hardware, the network has stopped working and can not get going again. System is running Windows 7 Ultimate X64 after upgrading from Vista Ultimate X64. It was working after the upgrade, but now is not. The SMB bus driver was reinstalled do to an issue with the driver and now the network is not working. Can not install new drivers because whenever the software is uninstalled from the control panel, the message.

So I am guessing since this could have been installed under Vista, it will not uninstall itself since we are under Windows 7 now?

GoDaddy Certificate not being accepted in SCCM

After a significant amount of hassle to get a GoDaddy certificate for Intel vPro and SCCM I am now having trouble with SCCM accepting the certificate. I have installed the certificate from GoDaddy and then exported the cert to a pfx file however when I attempt to use select this cert as the certificate to use for Provisioning it fails. After entering the password the OK button is greyed out and the Window remains open. Has a step been missed in the certificate generation request.

Just a little background... I am a desktop support tech at my organization responsible for roughly 400-500 client computers at 4 separate locations. We are running a Novell NetWare shop with Windows XP clients mostly along with some Windows Vista clients.

Our newest shipment of workstations are HPs with vPro. I've read up on some white papers about how to actually enable and use vPro utilities, but haven't been able to get anything working. I'm actually at a loss as far as how to put this technology to use and it's a shame. We have roughly 100 vPro capable workstations and would love to actually put them to work for us.

Some distinct questions I would like answered:

Just about all of your white papers on this site here seem to be based around integrating AMT with a 3rd party management console. My organization does not use Altiris, LANDesk, or Microsoft SMS. I've seen videos of people using the free tools that Intel offers. Do these work stand-alone? I'm especially interested in AMT commander.

Where do I actually start with this stuff? What software needs to be installed on the client?

I have a workstation running Windows Vista with all drivers for AMT installed, AMT service running, and another workstation running AMT commander console. The console doesn't discover the workstation. AMT commander isn't allowing me to connect even after manually adding the workstation. Where am I going wrong?

What are some good white papers that I can read up on? I've mostly found just white papers that go on about the TCO and other stuff that is more relevant to IT managers. I want to know the stuff that is for the guys that will actually configure this stuff.

Would really appreciate some support and insight on some physical memory problems we are having with the new Dell Vostro 420's.

We have called DELL on this issue and they are clueless.The new Vostro 420 has 4GB of RAM installed XPPro 32bit SPK3.

We have tried updating video drivers flashing to the latest BIOS same result.

Is there an issue with this processor and chipset that would affect physical memory allocation or conflict with installed hardware drivers?

ME error (during boot)

I'm a personal user of my Santa Rosa based laptop (ASUS V1S - BIOS ver 209).

I was totally new to the AMT, so I started to activate it, and installed the Vista drivers that eventually said it was activated and working. I'm not sure I had disabled it from the BIOS then, but I had no problem with it so far. I'm using the laptop all alone with an ADSL bridge that gives the LAN an IP address from DHCP. Also I have a docking station. (maybe these are important)

After a crash of Vista, today I discovered that I cannot any more enter the MEI area by pressing Ctrl+P, and during the boot process I can spot an error message in RED saying "ME error" for a couple of moments, then it goes loading Windows. Also, obviously the Vista drivers say it's not activated. I don't seem to have any problem other than is annoyingly doesn't work.

Can anyone give a clue how could I make it right, or to enter it again? I tried to update the BIOS, but no change in this functionality.

Bios Update Failure DP35DP Motherboard

I have installed the latest bios update for my DP35DP motherboard using Express BIOS Update DPP3510J.86A.0572.EB.EXE in Windows XP The installation appeared to be proceeding as expected with no disruption to the electricity supply, so there was no disruption to the bios install. Upon completion of the install the PC re-booted and I now all I have is a black screen (DOS like) with a solid cursor in the top left corner of the display. The motherboard is just over 2 years old and I have performed bios upgrades on it before without any problems.

I've been told that the board might now be beyond rescue, or is there something that can be done to recover from this disaster?

I believe the warranty on this board is 3 years, is this correct?

I can't instal driver for network/lan under win7 64bit, i have it integrated on mb DP55WG. Before on Vista 64bit everything works fine, but yesterday i upgrade my system to Win7 and now i can't instal any intel network driver (PROWIN7X64.exe).

After upgrade win said that he can't install hardware, so i uninstal it from programs and from hardware too. Than when i try to install PROWIN7X64.exe, win only send me message : Cannot install drivers, No Intel(r) adapters are present on this computer.

So i don't know what to do. I was trying some other driver versions but nothing work. Is there any way how to fix that?

Intel 5300 Half Mini PCI-E card issues

I have an Acer 11.6" Aspire One AO751H netbook. I want to upgrade the wireless-G to N. This model takes the half size mini pci-e cards. I just recently purchased the Intel Ultimate N WiFi Link 5300 card. Installed it yesterday, booted the computer, computer POSTs, so far so good. It recognized the card right away and the driver installation was successful. The wifi activity light works, the card is recognized, and the card's radio is on, but it is unable to detect any networks. It just flashes that little balloon at the bottom saying "wireless networks unavailable". Try to refresh the network list, and i still get nothing. I tried turning the card off, then on again, but nothing. I checked on the driver in Device Manager, and it says it is functioning properly.

I have the most up-to-date BIOS and I am running 32-bit XP Pro (downgraded from the factory installed VISTA). I was wondering if maybe there was an issue with the antennas? The 5300 card has 3 antenna inputs, but the laptop only has two antennas. I was told on numerous forums that it would still function fine with only two antennas, however. I obtained the most up-to-date driver for the card right from intel's website and it installed without any issues at all. Does anyone have any input on to why this card seems to have installed fine, but cannot detect wireless networks? I don't think there is any defects with the card. Is it possible that it just isnt compatible with my netbook (Aspire One AO751H), or maybe the chipset (which isn't actually an intel chipset, intel just stuck their name on it)? Or maybe this card just will not function without 3 antennas hooked up, although I heard it would function with only 2.

I just feel that if there was a compatibility issue, the computer wouldn't POST, wouldnt recognize the card, would flash error messages, something would be going on. Below I have posted some pictures in order for everyone to get a better idea of my situation. What could be wrong?

It is unable to recognize any networks, but the card is enabled and "on", and the radio is functioning, it just cannot detect networks.

This is the old card. It has an "AUX" (Auxilary) and a "MAIN" input. The black wire went to the MAIN, and the white went to the AUX.

This is what the new card looks like in the unit. The intel 5300 has three inputs. I have tried many different configurations with the wires and none have worked.

Confused about MotherBoard for my Processor Q9650 (vPro or No vpro??)

Hi,

I want to install Windows 2008 with Hyper-V an then few test Virtual Servers on it for TEST pupose only.

Hence, seeing the need, I decided to buy Q9650, even by paying twice than my otherwise choice (Q8200)

Now I am confused about the MotherBoard.

DG45ID support HDMI but DQ45CB does not. Intel says they tested DQ45CB with Q9650 and found it the best performer when comapred with inferior processors (e.q Q8200 or Q6800) but thats a mis-leading test. It is meant to be faster as it is highz FSB high freq processor.

I cannot decide between DG45ID and DQ45CB.

Does DG45ID support vPro? If yes, I am going for this right away.
Who would perform better with Q9650?
Is it wise to spend twice on Q9650 or shuld I buy two Q8200s?

PLEASE HELP!!!

Unable to connect to Provisioned machine with AMT cmdr

Hi,

I've been able to provision a few machines for vPro, but I'm not able to connect. I used a USB key to provision and am able to log on to the client's Mebx (CTRL+P). I created certs on site. We have our own cert creation site (gov). I manually entered the hash in the Mebx. I'm able to provision and re-provision machines without trouble, but just connect connect with the AMT commander to manage remotely. I'm using a domain account with admin priviledges on the server. We are not able to use the AD schema extensions.

Right now the log has an "Exception in set rng key worker: (0xCFFF06AC) SOAP Failure (22): Http error." referencing the machine I provisioned this morning.

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Video Card Driver Update Error

I have been experiencing graphical errors with World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Litch King. I figured out that my video card's driver was out of date and needed to be upgraded. I downloaded the newest driver for my Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family but everytime I try to install it a error message pops up that reads, "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer's manufacturer. Setup will Exit." So I went to Dell.com to find the latest driver and they only have two drivers to choose from. One is the current version I have and the other is an older version. If anyone has an answer to this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

RAID - Drive replacement Steps

I have read thru google and on this community to find the CORRECT steps in replacing a faulty drive in a RAID config and have been rather unsuccessful.

Any help on the correct steps to follow would be of great help.

One of the drives in a 4 Drive RAID setup when faulty and Matrix Storage Console advised the replacement.

I removed the 1X 320GB drive and replaced it with a 500GB as no 320gb are available.

The RAID Drive has been partitioned into 2 drives Boot C: and Data E:

I booted the machine,started the rebuild and the process finished after 8 hours with version 7.5 of the matrix storage console.

Most server services are fine as they reside on the boot drive being C:, The E: drive with all the backup information does not even show up as drive in windows explorer.

What are the steps to follow in such a environment?

The only option i could find was a upgrade to use full space option which selected and now the RAID is migrating to this setup. Was this the right choice?

i just discover vpro . apparently my own computer is not ready for . I have download the intel test utils and probably i will test on my clients computers.

But since i build computers i would know what kind of hardware is needed for vpro. I think that we need a cpu with vpro and maybe a chipset that can handle it , maybe a compatible bios.

Certificate Error Provisioning All AMT Devices

I have a brand new Dell Optiplex 755 running BIOS A11 and AMT Firmware 3.2.1. I'm having trouble provisioning it. Everything works up until the certificate request is made from out certificate server, however. I'm getting the below messages in the amtproxymgr.log (not amtopmgr.log) on the ConfigMgr site server.

I had one of the guys on our server team check out the certificate server, and it is creating multiple certificates for the same client, and automatically approving them (as is proper), but for some reason, the site server is rejecting the certificate during the verification of the certificate chain. Our internal root CA certificate is in the Trusted Root CA store on the site server, and I have successfully provisioned other clients before.

I have also verified that this is not the self-signed certificate issue, because I have manually unprovisioned the device in SMB mode, and also pulled the CMOS battery to reset back to factory defaults. The same behavior is persisting.

DNS also is not a problem, as I have verified the forward and reverse records for the client from the site server. DHCP option 15 is also set properly. If either of these were the issue, we wouldn't be getting as far as we are in the provisioning process.

Excuse my ignorance, but as my username says, I am a somewhat a "noob" to the whole TxT/VT world. Anyway, what I am trying to figure out is, if you just want to have measured launch of a PC do you have to have both TxT and VT-d (Yes, assume the TPM is there)? Or is the VT only needed if you're doing virtualization? Of course, haveing VT-d makes sense if you're doing Virtualization, but I guess my real question is whether or not TxT requires the VT technology no matter your scenario. Say, for instance, an organization only wants to perform remote attestation (using SRTM/DRTM) of a host and doesn't use virtualization at all. I hope that all makes sense. Also, what other chip makers out there are currently supporting Measured Launch? I think AMD's version of VT-d is called IOMMU. Just trying to see who else does this and if there is a standard as well.

I have been trying unsuccesfully to download? a video off my Nokia 5610 phone to my netbook. It seems to just download the readme files, I can't see the video. However, there are some photos on the phone and I can see them. I have an Intel 945 express Chipset on my netbook, Can anyone help? I need to "uplpoad" this video to a website by tonight. Hi. I'd like to know what is the (highest) processor and (compatible) board (or ?) you have available on the market? Though I'd be using it at home, for home use and small home office, nevertheless, I'm interested in getting my hands on the (highest) processor and (compatible) board (or ?) you have available on the market; despite I'd be using it what for I normally do say, on a regular home desktop computer. I want to go (big?), with upgrading and (designing?) my own new system. The key aspect factor I'm aiming in on (for me, personally) is the overall basic computer 'speed', seperate clearly from online speed I know. But sure they go hand in hand somewhere along the line, say, to play nice and work together to put out the best peformance. And though I may have thing's (program's) that start up at start up (i.e.: chat, anti virus, misc), the number of processes listed in the bottom lower left hand corner of Wondows XP Home's (Task Manager) I don't care if they say 150 (more or less), I don't want my pc slowing down, so I will upgarde unto a whole new system with Quad Cord (highest) processor and (compatible) board, you know. Just saying, I'm customizing, so to speak, for myself personally, not the 'norm' of other's. I want what I want. But aside from locating the board and processor for me, then I have to figure out the (other) compatible componet's that must work with that board and processor (graphic card, sound, ram, all that you know). I have SCCM SP2 and also some AMT machines. I performed full unprovision for one of them and imported it successfully via "Import single computer".

My AMT's version is 3.0.2 and it uses PSK so I use also the WS-Man Translator (The PID and PPS were inserted to wstranscfg.exe) - it is enabled in the Out Of Band Management component, and I can see that it works (https://<sccm's fqdn>/wstrans).

I use also my own Root CA for certificates, and the same certificate was inserted to both SCCM and the translator.

The passwords in the MEBx were changed and the new password is in the Out Of Band Management component and the translator.

Everything in the setup and the environment is looking OK - but the computers' status stays "Detected"...

I've tried to look at other posts here with the same problem - nothing was helpful. (DHCP option 15 is enabled, the DNS contains the AMT's records in forward and reverse lookup zones, the certificates looks correct...).

Problems provisioning vPro 5.0.1 clients with SCCM

We are in the process of in-band provisioning ~50 vPro Clients (HP dc7900 Ultra Slim Desktop) using SCCM SP1, but having problems.

The AmtOpMgr.log shows the following failure on every client:

SecurityAdministration.SetTlsEnabled finished with HResult = 0x80004005, status = 0x0, clientError = 10.~ ...
Error: Failed to finish critical setup and configuration step. (pProvisionHelper->SetTlsEnabled) ...
Error: Can't finish provision on AMT device WS106.maklerzentrum.ch with configuration code (30)! ...

What we have done so far:

Requested a Provisioning-Certificate vom Verisign (this is the content of the subject-field):

CN = srv-hq-1.mydomain.ch
OU = Terms of use at www.verisign.com/rpa (c)05
OU = Intel(R) Client Setup Certificate
O = MyCompany
L = Basel
S = Basel-Stadt
C = CH

The Verisign-Certificate was requested and installed using IIS 7. On export, the option "Include all certificates in the certification path..." was selected. The intermediate and root certificate of VeriSign are valid and installed in the local certificate store.

We set up a Windows Server 2008 Enterprise CA and configured it according to the Technet Documentation and Intel Quickstart Install Guide 1.9
The CA lists issued certificates for all clients that tried provisioning (this is the content of the subject field):

CN = WS106.mydomain.ch
CN = WS106
CN = WS106$iME
CN = Device (UUID: 3E061647-F28E-11DD-BBDA-7D1DFF970023)

The internal CA-Certificate is listed under "Trusted Root Certification Authorities".
The Computer objects in the AD are created in the OU assigned in SCCM (so the permissions for the Site-Server are set correctly on the OU)

DHCP Options 6 and 15 are set correctly (6 to the AD DNS Server, 15 to mydomain.ch)
The HECI Driver is installed, SCCM reports the AMT Version as "5.0.1" and AMT Status as "Not supported"
The WS-MAN Translater is NOT installed (and has never been)
No one ever accessed the MEBx locally
The Ports 9971 and 16992-15995 are opened on the Clients Firewall (OS is Vista Enterprise SP1)

The SCCM is a single site system, all roles (except some branch distribution points and the site database) are on the same server.

The iAMT-Scan-Tool lists the AMT Setup Status as "In process" (see the attachment)

Does anyone have an idea what is wrong here?

E8400 with Gigabyte G41M-ES2L Motherboard

I have an E8400 with Gigabyte G41M-ES2L Motherboard I have tried to load window xp (preferred OS) on it and I get a message that there is not enough memory and windows has stopped installation. I then tried to load Windows Vista Home Basic and it worked but then after only 2 - 5 days it would crash and come back up with Windows has encountered a serious error. Then after a day or 2 it would crash and not even come up in Safe Mode. I would then reload Vista and it would repeat the same process. What is wrong? I have downloaded all the Windows Updates.
Another fact is that I had an ECS G31T-M Motherboard and I replaced it with the above board because I thought the board may be bad. The old board would download the XP OS and then all of a sudden the same error described above started to come up when I tried to load XP OS. I have replaced the hard drive also. The only thing left is the Intel processor that I bought only in June 2008.
Please help!

I have a GD45ID board, with XP running. The bios audio is enabled. All devices say I have no audio device installed. I have tried to install the driver from the CD and from Intel's site, I always get "This system will not run this driver" message. Is there another driver I can use? I can not check to see if the device is working because according to device manager and all other programs I have no Audio device. Is there a solution?

this is goutam, i bought the dp45sg one month before with intel(E7500processor,zion ddr3 1333fz ram,sapphire ATI radeon HD4870, HP DVD writter.

I usedface a prolem to start my system that when i push the power button the system got start but no display there then continuously holding the power button then it powered down. Again I have to push the power button then it starts with two beeps and giving the display.

Another problem is in the bios setting it's not showing the RAM's full frequency(showing 1066), I tried manually to solve i t but it not giving the display after reboot.

Please take a look about my problem and give some suggestion to solve those problem as quick as possible.

New girl shut down our server.....big error.........which was running xp pro on a raid system with 2 hard drives...Other users were using a program with its data base on that server...think it is called raid 1...one drive in main drive and second drive is identical. devise is ICH8R/ICH9R SATA RAID CONTROLER . What my question is.........should I just let it continue to do the verify / repair.........and expect all things to be just fine....I am asssuming it will finish after some hours and come back with the message that "Data protection activated" ...or should I do some proactive thing? when you do the console thing one option is to select a raid 1.. ( with help from the dental software people, I got the sw data base now back to normal.)

I recently discovered that our systems had some problems getting provisioned from SCCM because our machine names have underscores in them. We're working to change our naming scheme however we still are getting errors in our efforts to provision our Vpro systems. Here's a bit from our amtopmgr.log showing an attempt to provision

Enormous problem with Intel 4200E

Just had a power hit for 2 hours......4200E on UPS did a proper shutdown when signalled that the UPS batt was going down.....(at least it looks like it, I wasn't there)....

Now it reawakes with the following status (4 orange lights on the drives) and status box on the dashboard with:

	Data on your device is unavailable. 4 disks on the device have existing data that will need to be overwritten to re-enable storage. Click here to authorize overwriting existing data.

I've got 1.6G of stuff on this thing. How do I get access to my data back?

I need this thing back.....was going to do a full backup after thanksgiving (buying the disks for another backup unit on Black Friday...) right now I have NO backup, cuz I EXPECT an intel devie with RAID 5 to NOT go belly up like this.....(I have another 4200E with no drives in it as a HW spare....would that help?)

Running OOBMC outside of SCCM

A while back I received a .vbs script and docs from Intel on running the AMT OOB Management console outside of SCCM.

The script didn’t work and didn’t satisfy my need.

The problem I have is my normal login account is too large to work on all of our AMT devices. It’s a Kerberos token size issue.

The solution is to logoff and login with a test account that has a small Kerberos token size. This introduces other problems with accessing network shares without logging off and back on again. So I set out to create a script using cmd line, see below.

This script will get the additional data via a WMI query to the SCCM server and then run the runas command on the oobconsole.exe.

You will need the SCCM console installed. Change the 2 variables at the top of the script and you are good to go.

This should work on XP, Vista and 7.

Can the XPS 730 with Intel Q9450 run Windows 7 64 bit? The performance details indicate that it is 64 bit capable. When I try to install Windows 7 pro 64 Bit upgrade, the setup file will not run. I receive an error that reads:

The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are running.

I am currently running Vista Ultimate 32 bit. Everything I have read on Microsoft and elsewhere says that you can upgrade from Vista 32 bit to a 64 bit Windows 7 OS as long as you do the clean install. I cannot get that far since I cannot even run setup.

I was running Windows 7 RC1 on this machine for several months with no problems at all but it was only available to download the 32 bit version.

I am not sure if there are some components or chipsets that are not compatible or if I need to run the full version of Win 7 64 bit.

Does anyone possibly know what the problem might be? I have spent over a week trying everything to no avail.

Running vPro OOB Mgt without SCCM

I have been having problems with getting the Out of Band Management Console to run because my normal login account is too large to work with all of our AMT devices. The Kerberos token size is the problem. The problem I have encountered is I have to logoff and login using a small test account when I want to use OOBMC. This prevents me from doing anyhting elase.

I created a commandline script that will run the OOBMC as a runas user to avoid the logoff's.

et 2 variables at the top and its ready to go.

You need to have the SCCM console installed on the computer as it uses oobconsole.exe to run "outside of the box".

It does a WMI query to the SCCM server to find the resource ID for the specific PC then does a runas on the oobconsole.exe

Duo vs quad

what is the difference in everyday home performance, no gaming, between the intel core2 duo p8600 (2.4ghz) w/ 6mb DDR2 and 3mb L2cache and the core2 quad q9000 (2.0ghz) w/ 6mb DDR2 and 6mb L2 cache? I'm a simple user trying to decide on a laptop, please go easy on me. I know the quad is better at multitasking, but is it worth the extra money for everyday use?

Could use some help w/ D845GVSR mobo. Inherited it from a friend. Need front panel connection sequence for pwr switch, hd led, pwr led.

I do not know if I am even getting power from the supply. Is there a way to test w/o being connected to the mobo? I have other power supplies, but none w/ 12v extra connector. Is that necessary to check the supply?

I feel like I will never see life on this box. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I have Installed and configured SCCM Out of band configuration for Intel vPro Provisioning

To make use of SCCM for Out of band management either I should have any one of the certificates like Versign, Godaddy, Starfield or I should make use of the certificate created by Internal CA.

I need to use the certificate created by Our internal Certificate Authority.

So I want to burn the certificate thumbprint value in Intel vPro Chip.

Any one please help me to do this.

DX58SO and I7920 No boot please help!!!

Hi guys, just received brand new DX58 mboard and I970 proc, installed with antec TP750 psu, Radeon9870 gpu, 6gb corsair xms3 1600, 2x seagate 4750gb hd for raid 0 and an LG Blu ray dvd r/w. switched on the power and .....nothing. fans and hd access light comes on so power is ok (checked psu on other kit) then switches off for 3 seconds and then comes back on and stays on without displaying POST. Checked GPU in other kit all ok as well as disks and dvd, cant check the DDR3 as dont have spare compat kit, likewise the proc. Where should I start!!!!????

SCCM - Find Out of Band Management Controllers

I'm working towards provisioning Vpro. Today i took the step of having SCCM find all Out of Band Management Controllers.

It does seem to have worked for some machines, but there are many entries like the ones below in the amtopmgr.log.

What I find strange about these are the IP addresses. 192.168.1.103 would be their local IP address if they were using their home router and connecting to our network via VPN. However their VPN IP address would be 10.30.*.* So why would SCCM be looking for the machine their private IP address? Is there a way to change this behavior? I did try setting up a boundary and setup 192.168 as a Slow subnet. Doesn't seem to have made a difference though.

Deploying Windows Vista and Windows 7 on Dell Latitude E6500 with SCCM 2007

Dear Expert,

For Two weeks I have been trying to deploy Windows Vista and Windows 7 on Dell Latitude E6500, E4300, M6400 with SCCM 2007. I injected the driver that came with the system into the boot image and tried to Build and Capture an image from the E6500 but it stops at Apply Operating System with error code 0x80070002. All the suggestion I have read points to the fact that the network driver for this model has been upgraded on the Intel site. I downloaded the 82567LM dated September 2009. I extracted the files from the exe file and pointed the SCCM driver configuration to the folder that contains all the upgraded driver files. When the system boots up to apply Operating System again, still came up with the error 0x80070002.

I have captured and deployed Vista image from/to other Dell models (GX620, GX270, D600, D420) successfully using the injected nic drivers.

Could any help with this problem as Dell, Microsoft and Intel seem not to be aligning on the proper network driver for the new Dell models.
