How about you just support the ONE most used distro, Ubuntu? With all of its variants (and millions of users), you would be supporting tens if not hundreds of distros by doing just that. Stop telling everyone to go to their distro, when you know damn well we can not reverse engeneer this without your help (or the makers of this garbage chipset), and only you are in the position to make that happen. How are you going to build your own Linux distro, but leave us in the dark? Consider yourself on notice, because if the Linux community turns its back on you, the way you have on us, most of your future plans involving Meego, and anything Linux related are dead. You need us. You need our community. Get your **** together Intel.

Hello Robert,

I bought a GMA500 enabled netbook and I must tell the experience as user is dissapointing.

I tried several linux distributions: Mandriva, Fedora 12, Ubuntu UNR, Zenwalk, even Arch; Just searching for one that works well with the GMA500 chipset.

As you can se these are not just another extrange Linux disrto. They are main distributions, even in distrowatch.com 4 of them are in the top10 distros

At the end it becomes very frustrating to discover that no one works well yet.

May be the closest one to success is Ubuntu UNR. but even wit that there are several glitches. Having to maually re-install drivers after a kernel update is a pain. Not good at all for non tech users.

I has been an intel fan for years, and my general experience with dozens of machines has been very positive.

But this time, I think Intel took a wrong path. It is really hurting users who loves Linux on intel hardware.

Please intel, do something.

Adrian

Way too many versions of Linux for Intel to write drivers for.
