DIK07, I had a very similar problem to yours:

My hardware details are the following:

Motherboard: DG45ID

Bios: 0097

HDMI Video output connected to 20" LCD screen

DVI video output connected to a DVI/VGA converter and connected to iMON touch screen (800 x 600 resolution)

Symptoms: if both HDMI and DVI are connected, will only get blank (no video signal to either display); if either of the connections is disconnected, the connected display will work fine

Troubleshooting done: installed the latest intel graphics driver and managed to get both screens to work briefly just before rebooting the computer, but failed to get them work again after rebooting.

I have then updated with the latest Intel BIOS firmware ver 113 and my problems were sorted out! I hope this helps

Honestly, an add-on card from Nvidia or ATI would be better suited for various video/graphic setups than an integrated graphics chipset like the GMA X4500HD in terms of component capabilities, software flexibility and other hardware support. Intel is good at CPUs and chipsets, not video/graphics solutions like HD, dual monitor and various video connectors. GMA should be simple and not complex.

I have two monitors on my DG45ID: LP2475 connected to HDMI port and HTPC case' internal 8" VGA touch screen connected to DVI-I port by DVI-DSUB connector. After last BIOS update 0101 I have no the second VGA monitor (it always in off state), no BIOS post, I cannot view BIOS, cannot use boot menu, cannot extend Windows desktop on second monitor etc. There is no such problems with BIOS ver.097. It's a bug in last BIOS update.

And second. Why on this motherboard the monitor connected to DVI port is always main (first) one until Windows logon screen? I wish see BIOS screen on HDMI monitor or on both (as on NVidia cards). Is it possible?

I just updated my DG45ID motherboard from BIOS 0097 -> 0101 in order to fix some sleep issues and can no longer get dual monitor support. If I unplug one display then the other will work. I am currently using the on board VGA and HDMI, and do not have a seperate video card. When I downgraded back to 0097 I then got dual monitor support back. This issue happens from initial power up and on. It is a real issue since the HDMI port does not show POST information until Windows boots. Thanks for any help you can provide.
