well, I dont know how to do, with that scheme, so after a little work, it works.

in my windows install, I enable ISR, with minimal space (18.6gb) located at the end of the ssd, the rest appears free. what does, create 2 arrays in the intel matrix raid. 1 with the rest of the disk, and 18,6 at the end called cache.

so, afther that, the 1º array are totally accedable and boot capable.

I move my linux data to the array, making partitions.

install grub in the ssd.

after that, the disk of windows must have ntfs partitions only, so, I move data from F3 to F2, resizing partition of F2.

deleete all linux partitions from F1, and windows partition, to do a fresh install.

install windows, all you want, and configure ISR.

I think that if you only have 1 hdd, the posibility is making 2 raid arrays with single drive, so OS recognise it as diferent phisical devices.

I dont want to acelerate linux, I want to acelerate windows 7 only, but I need partitions in that disk with not windows filesystem,.. The only way to do is only ntfs partitions on the cached disk?

I can do the install of linux and caching the f2 drive with the rest, no problems with that, but I cannot accelerate my system disk...

this night I will try to modify the partition scheme to leave ntfs ones in the first side of the disk, If its not possible, I must change all windows data to a single drive...

the ssd caching cannot be set to point to a specific partition instead of an drive?

Hi!

The Hard Drive you are trying to accelerate should only have one Operating System which can be either Windows Vista or Windows 7. Intel SMART Response Technology is only compatible with those two Operating Systems. If you are going to use just 18.6GB of that SSD for cache then the rest of the SSD can be used just to store files, it is not possible to install an Operating System in that SSD.

Hi, I want to ask a question, I bought a corsair force3, I plan to use it as normal disk and smart response device.

I use linux mayor time, but autocad and some software requires that I use windows. actually windows 7 64bits.

well, the problem is that I cant enable smart responce. I have 2 HDD, and the ssd.

disk 1: 1tb, windows + linux (gentoo), multiple partition:

1º partition 100mb, windows (system invisible, windows create it when install)

2º partition: 128mb /boot (ext4)

logical partitions:

3º partition: 20gb linux / (ext4)

4º partition 90gb c:/ (NTFS)

5º partition 500gb aprox. /home (reiserfs)

6º partition 8gb /var/tmp (reiserfs)

----- FREE SPACE 20gb aprox

7º partiton 512mb /usr/portage (reiserfs)

8º partition 20gb /usr/portage/distfiles (reiserfs)

9* partition 2gb swap

2º hdd, its only one partition, NTFS 1.5TB

I only want to use smart response in windows, with 18.6gb, and use the rest of the disk for Linux, (/boot and /) using a native ssd.

when I try to enable aceleration, It nevers active in disk 1, but if I try in disk 2 it enables perfectly, so I think is partition scheme

both disks are very similar, samsung F3 (1tb) and samsung F2 (1.5tb), same cable, same everyrhing, working good all time

I don't know if matters but a description of my pc:

2600k - Asus p8z68v-pro - 2x4gb corsair - ati 5870 - silent pro m700.

its some problem with partition map?

smart response is not compatible with that scheme?

If I move the 100gb of windows to the first zone of the disk, smart response could be used?
