My board is behaving very similarly to Pecador's, except unfortunately I can't get mine to work long term. Immediately after a fresh flash of the BIOS the card is detected, but on all subsequent reboots there is no sign of it in the BIOS setup or the OS.

This seems like a general issue with the BIOS settings for the PCIe x4 slot, and a patch from intel would be much appreciated (particularly if they've fixed this before for another board!). Short of buying new cards at random and trying them what are we meant to do? This really doesn't seem like an issue to do with specific hardware as all the people here are using different cards (mine's a Hauppauge HVR-2200). Pinning the blame on "specific hardware" when there is now evidence against such a claim is daft, and I'd like a fix... What's the chance that ALL our cards are non-standards-compliant bits of crap that just happen to work perfectly in most other computers?

If you don't fix this, the intel DQ77KB will be my first and last intel board.

I've played with bioses flashing them repeatedly and found some strange behavior.

1. I Set up all I need bios items

2. Quit saving changes. Reboot to verify. PCIe 7 "not populated".

3. I download 48.bio and put on empty fat32 usb stick.

4. F7 to flash new bios

5. Reboot to verify and my card is detected!!!. I did'nt restore setting defaults as offered after flushing completed.

6. I change some bios settings, i.e boot order. F10 to quit and save

7. Reboot and verify "Not populated" :-(

8. Repeat item 4-5

9. Change some settings, then esc, esc quit without saving

10. Reboot to verify - it's still detected.

11. Rebooted 5-10 times in a row - still working

So I'd like to share with everyone maybe it will help to some on else and mainly to Intel to fix the bug.

Its definitely bios and mobo. Nothing to do with "3rd parties hardware" which is "not guaranteed to work on Intel boards". So if you want to have your card detected, set up bios items and flash new bios even same revision. Reboot. Check and never change your bios settings again.

I had usless chat with Intel support regarding my DVB-S Tuner Tevii S471 the main point of which was Intel "can not guarantee correct work of third party hardware on their boards"

There have been two updates for the board since I bought it. Neither of them fix this issue, instead they add support for Windows 8 secure boot. "yay!"?

I think they will update all their Series7 Boards with this Fix, it doesn't make sense not to integrate this Feature in all Boards.

... But not for the DQ77KB . I have contacted both Intel and the tuner manufacturer to see if this BIOS update will be ported.

Problem should be fixed with the ney BIOS 96 for DH77EB an the new one for DH77DF

• Fixed issue where certain k eyboards and mice are not detected

during boot.

• Fixed issue where memory multiplier cannot restore to default

when set ting XMP Profile to automatic or loading default setting.

I also have written to Technotrend, maybe they can also contact Intel and together find a Solution for this Problem.
