This one includes the Intel PROSet/Wireless WiFi Software and the drivers on the same pakage.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the installer with "Administrator Rights", and you'll see a "Typical" or "Custom" install. Choose "Custom". It will show a list of components that can be installed within the driver package, where you would need to select the "Intel(R) Proset WiFi Connection Utility".

Click on next and let the installer finishes, then restart your system. Upon boot, you should be able to see the Intel(R) Proset WiFi Connection Utility with the icon on taskbar.

Cheers!

It's the Green Wireless Signal icon when connected and white when not. It opened the Intel PROSet WiFi Connection Utility which is also missing.

It was useful for seeing local networks (and channel numbers) and for quickly configuring and reseting the wireless adpator when it dropped connection.

Under Start > All Programs > Intel PROset Wireless I only have Statistics, Diagnostics and Event Viewer utilities.

How do I get back the missing icon in the taskbar notification area and the utility behind it?

Thanks!
