I looked in the driver INF file and see that your network connection has a driver for Vista, but not Server 2008.       <description>&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyStart:6e0201b6-0cd4-4c21-a1fd-18a89a4566a3] --&gt;&lt;div class="jive-rendered-content"&gt;&lt;p&gt;I have a HP EliteBook 8530w Mobile Workstation which has an Intel 82567LM ICH9M Gigabit NIC.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I am installing Windows Server 2008 Enterprise 64-bit.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Using either the HP driver or the generic Intel driver achieves the same results.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It does not detect the card. "No Intel network cards installed."&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Device Manager shows the Intel Network Controller with no driver.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Everest Ultimate detects the card.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;But the driver cannot.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:6e0201b6-0cd4-4c21-a1fd-18a89a4566a3] --&gt;</description>
