they deleted it.

anyway,

after working with the dx58so2 for a while and even bought a second one,

the only solution is:

if you have a higher bios version or even the last,

1) note down the memory parameters from the bios, when auto is selected.

2) RMA your board, you get oldest bios back then

3) setup the memory parameters in this one, like noted down

4) never use extreme tuning utility, don't even install it

5) be happy

Adam, this problem is also being discussed in another thread. http://communities.intel.com/thread/20887?tstart=0 many of us have been having issues with this. you may also be able to find or offer some insight there.

Unfortunately I spoke too soon because my system just hung while trying to go to sleep. I stepped out of the room for about 20 minutes and when I came back in the fans were running at max speed, the machine was hung with a black screen, and the motherboard showed "00". Disappointing.

Thanks for checking that. Yes those are the defaults.

I thought that maybe your new board came back with one of those items configured differently. If I remember correctly, on the precursor, DX58SO, some sort of incompatibility issue was discovered within one of these Intel power related states, that a subsequent BIOS release then disabled.

Still looking for an easy solution.

under intel dyamic power every option is set to enable which i believe are defaults

Please do me a favour and launch into your BIOS, under 'POWER TAB', let me which items under heading 'Intel Dynamic Power Technology' are either Enable or Disabled. Thanks Much!
