S5000PAL DDR2 RAM MISFIT

I bought an Intel S5000PAL motherboard and Kingston RAM listed on the Intel site as tested for the board. However, I am unable to seat the RAM because the notch is about 1/16 inch off. Has anyone had this problem? Can this be a defective board? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
