Not really computer literate but I downloaded the program, ran a test (left hand colum after downloading) and tried angry birds again.

I went to Rovio's blog page.. there are pages and pages of people who have these same issues. They suggest sending an e mail to support. I'm thinking with that many people with complaints, they'd post a notice that they are aware of it and (maybe) are working on a patch!

I can't be bothered. I am so disappointed. You would think that Intel would check out what you are offering for purchase BEFORE you actually get us to buy i t. I understand that it wasn't your company that developed the app, but you put it out there for sale. Intel is a well known name.. too bad it's no longer on my list of places to buy online anymore.

I tried updating the video card and display adapter drivers. The updater said it's already up to date.

I tried what Ted suggested, but it won't allow me to get past the troubleshoot stage. The change settings button isn't highlighted. I'm using Win7. Regardless.. there have now been enough complaints about this don't you think!!??? Time to help fix it, not use a standard c/p reply that doesn't help us.

I had both problems - got rid of the textual error by changing the graphic hardware acceleration:

go to control panel
go to display
select the settings tab
click on advanced
click on troubleshoot
adjust the hardware acceleration

I found I actually needed it in middle between none and full to play at the correct speed.

I also got the ADP runtime error and found the Intel Appup had to be running for the game to boot.

I am frustrated to no end with the Intel Community software. I made the mistake of subscribing to this thread and am unable to unsubcribe due to a problem with my account and not being abled to login. Even multiple password resets still result in being told that the new password is invalid. I have tried 3 different browsers on multiple computers and nothing works. It is also happening to another account "fedup". Both of these accounts started having problems when I made the mistake of logging out of the Community. Since then I have been unable to login via either the "fedup" nor the "frustrated" account. I was told that they could not find my account in the system! Well how the heck am I able to get updates to this thread if the account does not exist!!

Have you tried the suggestion given by Ted?

You also might try upgrading your video driver to the latest version available.

If neither of these suggestions work you might want to contact Rovio they are the developers of the app and it sounds like this is related to this specific application. Support for the Angry Birds application is provided directly by the content publisher (Rovio Mobile Ltd.). Issues can be reported through the "Contact Developer" link found on the Options menu of the application’s description page or by sending an email directly to support@rovio.com.

Intel’s validation process checks several key areas for all applications (e.g. installation, security, functionality, etc.) to reduce the risk of issues encountered by our customers. Unfortunately, all possible hardware/software configurations cannot be validated and some customers may see issues.

actually, it opened ok like that but I had to set the acceleration to one notch less than "full" to get the video motion to work right - seems to be fine now
