I just stumbled on this after my ASUS X53S ran into this problem this afternoon.

I knew that my laptop had been running and hibernating for a long time, so I decided to do a reboot. And when I rebooted, low and behold, I connected to having no internet connection and the "No supported Intel wireless network adapter was found" message in the Intel My Wifi Technology control panel with every button greyed out.

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the adapter, I've tried enabling it and disabling it again, I tried the Microsoft fix, and all didn't work. You have no idea how frustrating this is. My computer only has two network adapters, one being the Intel Centrino Wireless-N 100 and the other being the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. I cannot connect to the internet at all on that computer.

Am I missing something? Is mine special? For I don't even have the option to get on the internet on my computer, and that is dumb.

You will probably need to uninstall and reinstall the driver. You may do it from programs and features or if possible the best option is to uninstall it from device manager and restart the computer. Please note this last step will delete your wireless network profiles managed by Windows*.

Another option is to use the Windows* system restore to a date when the computer was working properly.

Please accept our apologies.

We also have to understand some of the replies are old. Newer information may be needed as we have posted newer drivers recently. If the issue persists I would like to recommend the possibility to escalate the case with the computer manufacturer as an alternate route for a solution while we work on further updates.

Keep in mind Intel® WiDi compatible systems are advertised as such because the system must be validated by the computer manufacturer as WiDi ready or otherwise installing the required WiDi software may or may not work. It is for this reason that the required software comes preinstalled by the computer manufacturer.

I have an idea - please make the platform and driver open source and we will test and debug things ourselves! Even college kids could write better drivers than the Widi team.
