The Angry Birds app is developed by Rovio (http://www.rovio.com/). Intel provides the Intel AppUp(SM) center for customers to download apps to run on their netbooks or PCs, and for companies to sell or distribute their apps such as Rovio does with Angry Birds. However, Intel does not have access to the software code for apps and cannot make changes to the app, fix problems with the app, or enhance the app. If the app is not running and you would like to troubleshoot an app issue, please contact the app company. For Angry Birds, you can contact the Rovio support team by sending an email to support@rovio.com

There are some known common issues and solutions for Angry Birds that we have posted at http://communities.intel.com/docs/DOC-6074 including the following:

Error - Texture is too large: 2048x2048, maximum supported size: 1024x1024

ADP runtime failed to initialize

Angry Birds will not launch when clicking on desktop shortcut

Cannot purchase applications

If the suggestions in the known issues documents do solve the problems you are having with Angry Birds, we recomend you contact the Rovio support team at support@rovio.com

Thanks,

Steve Murray

Intel AppUp(SM) center

I see some system exception errors, some timeout errors, and some errors related to how payment processing is setup all occurring with the last 2 days. From your description, it is not clear if you are having trouble downloading and install the updated version of Intel AppUp(SM) center, or if you were finally able to get the updated Intel AppUp center installed and are having problem with the apps themselves.

At this point I believe it might be best to just start fresh. I would recommend the following:

Uninstall Intel AppUp center from your system (Programs->Intel AppUp center->Uninstall Intel AppUp center)

After the uninstall is complete, reboot your system

When your system reboots, then go to www.appup.com and download Intel AppUp center. If you already have the Intel AppUp center installation file on your PC, make sure you replace the old installation file with the new download file if you are prompted to do so.

Reinstall Intel AppUp center

Login into Intel AppUp center using the same login name and password, and all the apps you have previously downloaded will be available.

Thanks,

Steve Murray

Intel AppUp(SM) center support

There is a beta version available for developers who are submitting apps and need the software for testing purposes. You can find more information about the Intel AppUp(SM) center for MeeGo development program at this URL:

http://appdeveloper.intel.com/en-us/meego-sdk-suite

Thanks,

Steve Murray

Intel AppUp(SM) center support

The bad news is that we have looked at adding Switzerland, but since it is not part of EU there are extra layers of compliance work required. The time and costs associated with this compliance work is what is causing the delay. The good news is that you live in one of the most beautiful places in the world, so don’t leave the country just yet to get paid apps. In all seriousness, we do hope to have Switzerland on the program eventually and appreciate your patience.

Thanks,

Steve Murray

Intel AppUp(SM) center support
