I tried a different shorter cable, the same problem persists.

In the end I bought a PCIe network interface card, disabled the onboard LAN and now I'm running problem free. It's a shame such an expensive motherboard doesn't work as advertised.

hi, I have the same issue on Windows 7.

Tried the drivers that come with the motherboard, tried the drivers on the Asus website and tried the drivers on Intel website, which are the latest ones.

The connection keeps dropping every 5 minutes, same as with the original poster. The onboard chip must be faulty as it does not seems to be a common issue, but it will be a real pain if I have to disassemble the system and return the board

R.
