Thanks for the explaination. My feedback is that Intel should have this information documented and inform the consumer about this on the driver download website for this software.

Intel used to publish release notes in the past for Proset software updates. This 15.6.0 software/driver update is very poorly documented and didn't have any release notes published that explained what was changing with the 15.6.0 software/driver update and other important information such as the latest drivers for the 6230 adapter would be 15.4.0.11 version. Can Intel publish this release update information on the download website?

I downloaded and installed the latest Intel PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows 7 Professional 64bit version 15.6.0 my Centrino Advanced-N 6230 adapter.
The 15.6.0 version Proset software installed sucessfully but the driver version installed is 15.4.0.11 not 15.6.0?

I then tried downloading and installing just the version 15.6.0 drivers but that didn't change anything and my Proset driver version remains 15.4.0.11.
Why didn't the 15.6.0 drivers install? How can I get the 15.6.0 driver to install?

I am using Firefox browser version 16.0.1 and latest version of Java 1.7.09 and the Windows XP Intel Driver Update utility still does not work and has a Java Security warning appear saying:

"The publisher cannot be verified by a trusted source. Code will be treated as unsigned"

Intel Driver Update Utility not working on Windows XP Professional

I have two Windows XP professional PC's and the Intel Driver Update utility crashes and does work on both of them.

Both PC's have firefox 15.0.1 , Chrome and IE 8 latest version and Java 1.7.0_07 and all browsers fail with the same error.

When I run the Intel Driver Update utility I see this error message below in a popup window:

The Intel driver update utility works fine on my Windows 7 Laptop with all the same browser's version and Java.

I tried installing the Intel utility manually and that didn't help any.

I am thinking Intel needs to look into a fix for Windows XP operating system.

Does anyone have Windows XP PC where the Intel Driver Update Utility is working? If so can you specify what version software your using?

I don't see on Intel's support pages that the 3945ABG adaptor is end of life and not supported? I see that is still active.

I did see mentioned that driver version for 3945ABG adaptor will not be updated with the latest software updates.

Though when I update the software I see the error /warning that latest 3945ABG adaptor driver is not compatable with the latest version 14.3.1 software

I wish intel will respond to this or I have to start a new thread since it looks like this thread is considered already "answered".

The issue I am having is the Intel's driver update utility informed me that there is a software update for my 3945ABG adaptor.

I installed the updated Intel Proset/Wireless WiFi connection Utility software version 14.3.0.0 for the 3945ABC network adaptor.

After you install the Intel Pro Wireless 14.3.0 utility software it gives you a error message that the Software utility version 14.3.0.0 does not support the 3945ABG Network Connection driver version 13.4.0.139 and suggests to update the 13.4.0.139 driver to a supported version?

If the 13.4.0.139 driver is the latest version for 3945ABG adapter, why isn't it compatable with the latest Proset/Wireless WIFi Connection utility software version 14.3.0.0?

Why can't the latest intel proset/wireless wifi connection utility updater install a 3945ABG driver that is compatable with the latest software?

Same issue for me. Even when I update the Intel Pro wireless 3945ABG to the latest driver version I always have driver version: 13.4.0.139

I tried uninstalling and it still installs version 13.4.0.139

Anyone have a solution for this?
