So far all is OK.

Would it be advisable/advantageous to upgrade the Option ROM to v.10.1.0.1008?

TIA

My motherboard has the Intel X58 / ICH10R chipset and Intel RST option ROM v.9.6.0.1014 with the SATA configuration in the BIOS set to RAID.

I have 4 x 1TB hard disks configured as 2 x RAID 1 arrays.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and the Intel RST v.9.6.0.1014 driver/software. This setup is very stable for me.

However, I would like to add a single 3TB drive to my system.

In preparation for the 3TB drive, I installed the Intel RST v.10.8.0.1003 driver/software, which on installation and reboot seemed fine, but on subsequent reboots caused no end of problems. A system restore back to Intel RST v.9.6.0.1014 and all is OK again.

Which stable version of Intel RST should I install to access the full 3TB hard drive capacity?

TIA.
