The controller on some of those causes the board to boot very slowly. Remove the drive and try booting without it attached.

Re: The CPU T4400 is core2 or pentium?

The Pentium version of a Core 2 Duo CPU is the same core other than the cache size and the FSB speed. A Wolfdale C2D may have 4MB cache and a FSB of 1066MHz. A Wolfdale Pentium may have 1MB cache and a FSB of 800MHz.

Re: What do you think of the packaging and documentation of Intel brand motherboards

Interesting comments. I do agree that the PDF manuals from Intel's site are of high quality and are easier to revise then a printed manual, but there is something to having that information in some form of printed booklet in the box. I miss the days when products came with comprehensive documentation to support their products. Remember WordPerfect, Lotus 1-2-3, dBase IV? These were ring-bound heavy stock paper books. They covered most of what you needed in these programs. You didn't need the internet to find out how to use their products.

Now, I'm not saying we need 10 lbs of books to come with a motherboard, but something that covers the basics of the board and covers the basics of the BIOS would be nice.

It may just hose your current BIOS. Did you try to recover back to a previous bios? Remove the CMOS battery and let it sit for a few minutes before you try.

You may have a bad BIO file. Did you try using iFlash from a DOS boot disk? If you are doing a recovery from a USB key, make sure no other BIO file is in the root directory except the one you want to flash.
