32GB memory support with i7-2630QM

I got a Dell L702X laptop with i7-2630QM processor, 4 memory modules and setup with 16Gb (4 x 4GB) but I would like to increase the memory to 32GB as I run a lot of virtual machines, so I can never have enough memory.

But I noticed the Max memory specification (from processor description on Intel site) says 16GB for i7-2630QM and 32GB for i7-2720QM processors. Can anyone comment if i7-2630QM cannot support more than 16GB of memory ?

I have read in forums were people confirming their laptops support 32GB but with i7-2720QM processor.

Any info is helpful.i7
