Hi all,

This is my first post here, I would like some help regarding a newly bought WiFi card.

I have just bought a Intel Centrino Wireless-N 6205 WiFi card. The packaging and the labels all look correct, however its hardware ID contains an ID that is not present in any of the Intel drivers that I could find.

The code is VEN_8086&DEV_008A&SUBSYS_00008086

From the Intel driver's INF, it seems that VEN_8086 and DEV_008A usually refers to the Intel Wifi 1030 card. However, even so, none of the combination matches as the SUBSYS number is not the same.

My question is: Is this card simply too new, and therefore the drivers supposed to support it is not out yet? Or it is simply a fake card?

The laptop that I am trying to install it on is a Sony VAIO SB-series laptop (Sandy Bridge based; Windows 7 x64). I have also tried the same card on a Dell, but the PCI code shows up to be the same and thus drivers could not be installed.A screenshot showing the Hardware ID: http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5143/5597021622_85a4189615_o.png
