Why am I having random RAID volume failures?

I need help, please.

I am having random RAID Volume failures while working on video and photo production since January when a new hard drive and graphics card were installed. The balloon message at reboot after the crash says, “RAID Stripe Failed….missing hard drive”. I have 2 dedicated hard drives for video and photo production and both will be missing when the RAID failure occurs. I am new to maintaining my own computer since the person I had maintaining it for me is no longer available. I have no idea what the problem is. I have been able to recover the volumes each time, but am worried that eventually I will not be able to. Do you have any ideas to fix this problem? Should I download the newest Intel driver? (8.9?) Would this help or hurt my situation?

Computer Info:

DELL PC – I think it is about 5 years old.

XP operating system

Graphics Card: GeForce 9500GT

Intel Storage Utility 4.5

I use Pinnacle Avid 7 for Video production, Adobe Photoshop CS2 for Photo production

I have 2 separate hard drives which disappear when the RAID volume fails

I don’t know what other information might be needed.
