As a note, the i5-2520M will not work for you if you're planning to upgrade just the processor. i5-2xxx and i5-xxx use different sockets, not compatible with each other.

You cannot upgrade it. The processor is soldered on the motherboard.

Core 2 Duo T7250 will not work in your laptop because it uses different socket (socket P). You need to look for compatible socket M processor.

Some Socket G1 heatsinks may fit socket G2 mini-ITX boards. I bought CoolJag BUF-A, and it works fine in my Jetway socket G1, and Supemicro socket G2 motherboards. I can't comment on how loud it is, because I never really paid attention. I bought it because Jetway socket G1 board came with pretty crappy heatsink, that din't cover full surface of the die.

T5500 is a socket M mobile processor, and Q6600 is a socket 775 desktop processor. They are not compatible.

No, you cannot do that. First generation Core i7 processors use different type of socket.

It's an embedded Celeron, that uses either socket M or socket P. It's not compatible with socket 478.

T2300 is a socket M processor, and T6600 is for socket P. So, T6600 won't work in your laptop. The fastest socket M processor is T7600, and that may or may not work depending on the chipset and BIOS in your notebook. Core Duo T2600 and T2700 are very likely to work. One more thing. T2300 came in two different versions - BGA (soldered) and PGA (socketed). Make sure you have PGA version before upgrading.

The i5-2430M has 3 GHz maximum Turbo Boost frequency, whcih, I beleive, is true for one core only. Maximum Turbo Boost frequency for 2 cores should be 2.8 GHz, but it's not confirmed. So, the 2430M should have up to 25% better performance when both cores are active, and up to 35% better performance for one core. Real life performance will be lower if a laptop has poor thermal solution, or if there are some bottlenecks in the system (slow GPU while you do a lot of graphics, or slow disk / not enough memory when you need to process huge amounts of data, etc).
