Ensure the CPU fan heatsink is properly installed. If it still doesn't fix the issue you may need to get the board replaced.

Because different boards/CPUs have different power requirements. You may try a different board, but I'd still say power supply is most likely the cause of the issue.

Run the Intel System Information Retrieval Utility or SEL Viewer to check System Event Log for errors.

SC5650DP is for previous generation server boards, and it does not support S2600CP4. See Chassis Compatibility.

Unfortunately AXXRPFKSSD2 is not compatible with RS2BL040.

Which driver did you install? If I'm not wrong ESXi 5.1 has built-in RSTe driver. No more hardware/BIOS configuration should be necessary. Check this one: http://communities.vmware.com/message/2177323#2177323

When I say "passthrough" I mean the onboard RAID in passthrough mode, so that ESXi can see the physical drives. "Passthrough" here means you have drives connected to RSTe, but don't create RAID volume, and RSTe will report the drives to BIOS/OS. It's different than configuring a "passthrough" device in ESXi.

Can ESXi see the drives?
